I usually go to WDW and have been noticing that over time the customer service has been getting worse (low and high seasons) So this past February we decided to take our first trip to Disneyland and were super impressed. Everyone was so nice and extremely helpful! The character interactions even felt more pleasant! Anyway, so yesterday I received a package in the mail from Disneyland's lost and found and it made my day! I wasn't thinking (tired and it was late) so I had my brand new hat on while riding Splash Mountain. I was prepared to hold on to it for the big drop but I didn't realize how different the ride was from wdw's and there were bunch of mini drops... Well I lost my hat on one of them and was a littl bummed. I just asked the girl working at the ride the possibilty of my hat being recovered an she said it was most likely gone forever but I can check in at City Hall and file a report. I didn't... but I did swing in the next day just to see if by some miracle they had it. No luck
the lady was so so nice and when I told her I was told it was probably lost forever she said "no! we don't like to think like that!" and had me fill out a lost and found report. Going back to the package I received... It was a brand new hat! I thought that was extremely awesome of them and they really didn't need o do that. It made me supe happy an now I'm no longer bummed for spending 20 bucks on a cap I only got to wear for a day.
Sorry for the length of my post, but I just wanted to want to share that so if any of you had lost something, there is still hope you can get it or a replacement back! Also, I read that if your kid breaks a toy bought in the park they will replace it for free... Well my daughter broke her light up toy and they replaced it no problem!

a security CM overheard us grumbling and told us to go to CS, they would replace it
we didn't take them up on it, but another time DGDs balloon came untied from the knot at the base of the balloon and floated off to space. Again a security CM saw what happened and this time we did go to CS they gave us a balloon replacement certificate. We got a new one
and Chip insisted he get it himself and took the time to pick them up and struggle to position it all to sign. The whole time I was thinking "if we were is Disney World, the characters would give us the cold shoulder then quickly move on." I know how hard it is for them to do that, so I really appreciated Chip's determination to do it himself and still seem happy with us!
I do feel very very lucky though!
