Very important AP question....need answer before price increase!

So, I have been plannin gon buying an AP....with the price increase, I need to do it tonight. But I have a question....

Is the AP good from the day you buy it, or the day you activate it? And if you buy it before the prices increase but activate it AFTER the price increase, you don't pay the difference right?
