Very frustrating AP, Split Stay, FP question

I'm getting conflicting info from the Disney Internet/FP support team, so I'm looking for responses only from people who have had a similar situation, please.

We are renting points for 2 Disney resorts(4 nights in the first resort, checking out of our 1st resort on the same day as we check into our 2nd resort...for 6 nights.) We are considering getting annual passes, but from what I've been told a few times by cast members, because we are doing a split stay, we will only be able to book 7 days worth of Fast Passes, but if our stay was for 10 days at 1 resort, we would be able to book all 10 days). However, another cast member told me that because our split stay is "continuous" and as long as it is linked to the MDE website/app, we will be able to book a full 10 days of Fast Passes. So Which is it?

Has any AP holder done a split and continuous stay for more than 7 nights, where their first leg was less than 7 days, and their 2nd leg pushed the trip out more than 7 nights, and been able to book their Fast Passes for the entire length of stay?
If so, when was the stay?
Also, did you have 2 60 day windows?

Thanks for letting me vent and for any clarity you can lend to these questions?

I know you are excited but does it really make a difference at this time? You said you are considering annual passes...well you can't book ANY fastpasses unless you have some form of valid ticket linked to your account, so you are going to need to figure that out first. Also if the trip is already booked you will find out when your window opens

It matters because we could always get 10 day tickets linked to our 1st reservation and be able to convert to an annual pass when we are down there. However, my concern there is if we do this will the "system" cancel out our Fast Passes for anything after the 7 day mark?(so just another consideration I'd rather not have to deal with when we are down there. I'm also a Type A planner...:)

And Type A planners post the same question on a forum and a sub forum? ;)

I answered you on the FP forum: it's the full 10 days...

Almost always do split stays, some of us have AP's and some of us have other tickets and we have always been able to make FP+ for all days of both stays.
Most recently in October 2015.

The real issue is making restaurant reservations.....

You will NOT be able to make it for your whole stay, since they are 2 separate reservations.

Sometimes DD will help you out, sometimes not.

TJMW thank you. Out of curiosity, when you do split stays, do you have 2 60 day windows for FP reservations?

Steves,
Fortunately I was able to make all of our ADRs already, but had to do it in 2 separate 180 day windows(which was no big deal).....no need to call DD.

1 (one!) - I am able to make FP+ reservations for both stays at T60 for the first reservation.

I know you have your answer but for anyone else wondering how far you can take this split stay thing, I was recently (60 days ago as I am now here on my vacation) able to book 10 days of FP+ with an annual pass when I had 2 nights+2nights+2 nights +14 nights (we wanted to try out some of the deluxe hotels in a cheap period then do bulk of holiday at moderate, so we hopped a lot). Once we had the first 10 days of FP+ booked at 60 days the remaining days were rolling, we didn't have to wait for the 14 night stay to start before we could book day 11, we just had to wait for the next day, then the day after that for day 12, etc.

We did a split stay with an AP this past summer. 4 nights + 14 nights for a total of 18 nights. We booked all 18 days, 60 days out. No rolling fp's after 10 days necessary for us. :thumbsup2

Good to hear everyone!(Thank you!) It's interesting how some people can book all at once and others have to do the "rolling days" method. According to a cast member that I spoke to, they said the system is flawed and it allows some people to book all at once and others have to use the rolling method or even wait until they check-in to book beyond 7 days.....sounds like most people have no issues though.

5 months to go!
