Hello,

In 32 days I will be heading back to the world with my DH. While we have been to the world many times, we are taking my almost 80 year old mother, my brother who understands how to do WDW (rope drop, rest, repeat), and my deceased brothers wife who has only been to the world once and cannot walk/stand for long periods of time.

I am thinking about making a list of attractions that have sit-down shows.

Do you have any other suggestions that can help me make this a good trip for all? I like to burn the wick at both ends, but I don't want to force everyone else to do the same.

Thanks!

Go over to the DisAbilities board, but I think you should look into renting a wheelchair or ECV for your SIL. She can wait for the rides in her wheelchair and then transfer at the end.

We figure mom may need a wheelchair. Of course she is refusing at this point. Thanks for the idea.

Do you think your mom & DSIL want to spend a lot of time in the parks? Maybe you & your brother can get up early for rope drop, and do some heavy hitting of attractions early while your mother & DSIL have a leisurely breakfast. Then you meet up with them for some sit-down/show attractions, then after dinner they head back to the resort while you & your brother shut down the park. Dunno if they'd appreciate this or not, or exactly how that works with two folks on wheels if they aren't accustomed to it.

Another hint - ALL of you can go into any queue and those who do not want to ride can just exit right before boarding. So, the four of you can remain together and once at the seater, just say "X# to ride, X# to exit" and those who don't want to ride will be escorted out. I've done this lots of times and it's no big deal. This helps when you don't want a person or two to be sitting and waiting while the rest go on the attraction. Keeps all of you together until the actual ride and then apart just for the length of the ride. Twilight Zone is the best of these attractions for leaving, trust me. No scares for those who leave but amazing detail even just exiting.

Apple Scooters! Even just walking around Epcot once is almost a mile. She will be guaranteed a spot to sit everywhere and make it so much more enjoyable.

Thank you all very much for the ideas. I didn't think of them coming into the queues. All of your info helps.

Thank you all for your help. We rented scooters at the parks when needed and we all had a great trip.
