Hi All

Joining you on 26th Aug........

Coming over from England (Nottingham) will me me, wife, 3 x kids (Daughters 10 + 8 & son aged 4) & Mother in law.

We've done disney every year since 1994 so know florida & Orlando well but this is out first Disney Cruise (& never cruised before). Really looking forward to it!

Making the most of our trip so have the cruise then 15 nights is a condo just 2 miles from Animal Kingdom with full disney passes for the length of our stay!

My 2 daughters would love to email anyone who they might meet in the Oceaneer club is there's any one of similar age..... drop me a message & we'll put then im touch

Look forward to seeing you all! ..... not too long to go now!!!

Mark

I have a DD who will turn 10 on the cruise. She will definitely be in the Oceaneer Club. I know that she would get lots of enjoyment from emailing a girl her age in advance, but we still have not told our kids about the cruise.

I am a little worried about my DS8 right now because he recently heard about the Titanic. He actually said "I never want to go on a cruise". We have reassured him that cruise ships today are much safer. We also told him that a Disney Cruise Ship only sails in warm water where there are no ice burgs. When he gets something into his head it is hard to change his mind. Last year he saw the Disney movies "The Haunted Mansion (with Eddie Murphy)" and "The Tower of Terror" on TV. He refused to go on either of these rides when we went to Disney world several months later (even though he loved the rides when we were there a year before).

Has anyone else ever had problems with their children? I can just see him kicking a screaming as we try to get him on the ship.

Tokyodisneydad---I am responding to your question from the other thread (trip report) we were on. I will be sailing with my 11 year old niece. She has almost become obsessed with this trip as much as I have. I haven't done any door signs yet (thinking I have so much time) but really it is just right around the corner. :yay: I have to start putting things together. It is hard because I do everything in secret because my dog ( he will stay with my parents) will know something is going on!!:rolleyes1
My most recent reservation was for the extreme adventure on CC. I think I already mentioned that we are doing the dolphin swim so I figured why not add some stingrays into the mix? I wanted to rent a float and snorkel equipment anyway so...
My next purchase is going to be a new underwater digital camera. I have a new digital that I had to unexpectedly purchase but I figured we are doing so much in and around water I don't want what happened last year to happen again.... That would be minutes before we were to go on the Safari at AK my camera mysteriously got wet and ruined from a certain someone's water misting bottle that spilled. :scared1: Oh well! We got good pictures from a disposable that I ended up buying that day.
It's so close!!!!:goodvibes

I have reserved a room at the comfort suites in order to utilize the facilities at atlantis - can anyone tell me more about what they actually have there? i think they have a dolphin encounter as well as snorkeling - is this included?
thanks so much
colleen
 :cool1:

Only 29 days!! Well for the start of our land and sea--only 29 days!!:cool1: Brielle (DN) has quite a lot packed already and has started planning for next year---she knows about the onboard credit and signing discount so she thinks we need to do a 7 day next year. She hasn't even been on a cruise yet!!! Not that there is a chance she will be disappointed. I don't know if you will find two more excited people! :yay:

I'm just wondering if anyone has received their tickets yet? I would think that we should start to receive them soon. I have never been on a Disney Cruise before so I don't know how far in advance they are issued.

I thought that since others have received their tickets, I would call my TA and find out if mine have arrived. She called DCL and they told her that the tickets have not even been printed yet, so it is impossible for anyone to have their tickets. I told her that they are :confused3. They also told her that tickets can arrive 10 days before the cruise. I am having a little panic attack because I leave for WDW 14 days before the cruise (I booked my land portion with a different TA). When I explained this to my TA, she called DCL again and this time they told her that I should have my tickets before I leave. I won't be :) until I have my tickets.

Just to clarify - When I said "that they are :confused3 " I meant the folks at DCL, not my fellow cruise members.

I remember way back when (1999) when we got documents months before the cruise. Our last cruise 7/06 we received them in pretty good time. This time I'm starting to get worried. I guess they assume we're all logged in and have our boarding stuff ready and excursions reserved.

Now we have to try on pirate gear and make sure it all still fits. Bought plastic coins for ds to hand out. Still have to get my magnetic door signs.

I have ds6's 7th birthday party for kids on Friday (28 kids) and then the family on the 18th. ACK. All those thank you's and getting ready for the cruise at the same time.

I received my documents yesterday, so I am all set now. We leave in 11 days for WDW, so I am big time into packing now. The one good thing that I learned while I was panicking over my tickets, was to print the pre-boarding document from the website (it did not realize that this is something we should do).

In case any are interested, there is a really great thread on the main cruise board called DCL picture of the day. At this point it is 381 pages of pictures and comments from cruisers. The pics are fun and beautiful and make the waiting time go by at little quicker. Be careful it's addictive. :surfweb: I look at between 10-20 pages a day and after 2 weeks I'm on page 332. Can't wait to see our pictures on this thread. :sail: SEA you all soon!

Yes it is a great thread! I subscribed about a year ago and just can't get enough:goodvibes today I noticed my DH in someones picture, that was kinda neat, I like seeing other peoples perspective of things.

We just bought tickets for the Pirate pirate: and Princess princess: party at the Magic
Kingdom on August 24. This looked like too much fun to miss, plus it
gives us one more excuse to wear our pirate pirate: costumes. Will anyone else
be going to this party?

17 days till we leave :hourglass

My family will be going to the Pirate and Princess party on August 31st. My logic was the same as yours "it gives us one more excuse to wear our pirate costumes"

Yes! My niece and I are going to the party....I agree it is too good to pass up and hopefully (I have heard) the lines are much, much shorter. :woohoo:
Can't wait!!

Good Morning Everyone!

A few of us have been communicating by a Yahoo e-mail account (thanks Colleen for getting that started) :surfweb: and we are planning on meeting up with each other. We are going to meet at the far end of the Goofy Pool away from the Dumbotron at 3:00 on the 26th. This will give us a chance to introduce ourselves, before the Drill and Sail Away Party.:boat:

We have dubbed ourselves the "Last Blast of Summer 07 Cruisers". I am in the process of making a sign with a Pirate and Cannon (great idea Steve) pirate: to mark our meeting place. I hope to have small magnets for everyone too that can be used inside or outside of your cabin door.

Time is really moving now. Look at that ticker! We leave next Friday (17th) and will spend the week in the parks. DCL assures me that cruise tickets will be here by Monday. Until then, I'll be cruisin' the boards while I wait for my cruise! :sail:

Just found this thread. It's awesome. We're going on our first cruise after an 8 day stop at WDW. The time is going fast now. Jealous that other people have received their tickets. My TA said she would phone Disney tomorrow and see where ours are + plus we are hoping for news of an upgrade.

Cruising is DH, DS 12, DD 11 and myself. Only 10 more days til we leave.
