very dumb question - marinara sauce

Thanks from another grateful Brit :rotfl2:

I would always have assumed marinara sauce had fish or shellfish in as that's the way I have always seen it served. So as traveling with a picky 8 year old it opens up another option and maybe a way of getting her to eat 1 of her 5 a day :rotfl2:

So pleased to have a definitive answer

LOL..not a dumb question at all!

If it had seafood in it, the entree would read something like...

mussels marinara or seafood marinara

It would also be found on the adult menu, not on kids menu...kids menu's are generally very basic foods.

Most pasta dishes come with Marinara Sauce. ?

Well I think the fish part's been covered, but a good thing to know also which may help, most restaurants will also serve the pasta just plain, w/ butter, grated cheese on the side, if you so request it! My best friend's daughter lives on noodles but she would starve if onion, red sauce , garlic and the forbidden green parsley ever appeared on her plate~

Talk about a meltdown! :scared1:

Certainly isn't un-common to find many Italian restaurants who offer shrimp marinara, seafood marinara! Always best to ask, rather than be surprised! Sometimes on these boards the responses come off so curt & harsh, makes you almost too scared to ask! :scared1:

When I went to England our hostess rewarded us with homemade puddings every night! The 1st night I was apprehensive as I'm not much of a pudding person, though I would never say anything. Well, let me tell you, this was far from American gloppy pudding! Fresh whipped cream, fresh rasberries, sponge... i salivate just thinking of them!

Im from the UK and Im surprised you dont know what marinara sauce is.
Its often served in many UK restaurants.

I also agree with the statement-there is no stupid question. :goodvibes
