We were told in a "behind the scenes" talk by the entertainment cast members in August that, while the music itself is taped, all of the vocals are live. Even in the opening Variety Show when the dancers are highlighted, the vocalists are back stage singing live.
We were also told by the cast members that they expect Dreams to always be part of the show lineup. They also said that whenever the time came to change a show, Morty would not be the first one to go as it is the newest.
I expected to hate Morty after reading the boards here, but I thought it was kind of cute!
