Very disappointed with Tony's Town Square

Tony's is not a favorite of our family either. Very bland Italian cusine. Yuck! Sorry you wasted a meal there, but, on the bright side, now you know to try something else! I agree with others about the Plaza restaurant. It's a great break for a busy park.

We ate at Tony's years ago for breakfast. We enjoyed it a lot. Breakfast now is only for Magical Gatherings groups. We tried Tony's last week for lunch. We thought it was very good, and fairly reasonably priced. We did NOT order a pasta dish, though.

We had the sandwich/salad combination on the lunch menu, along with a bowl of soup, which happened to be Butternut Squash soup that day. It was fabulous. I avoided the pasta, not from the reviews here, but because we were previously very disappinted at Mama Melrose's, and figured it was probably the same type of sauce. Disney tends to use the same sauces at many restaurants...most of their barbecue sauces have a seasoning in them that give me a bad reaction...so I avoid any BBQ at Disney and most of their tomato based sauces are bland.

Tony's is definately on our "lunch list" now. But we'll probably stick to non-pasta based meals.

We tried Tony's twice....there won't be a third. The food wasn't good. It was overpriced. And the restaurant's theming wasn't impressive at all. Nothing there to pull me back. There are so many better places to try..we won't be back.

i've been eating at tony's for almost 10 years now and the menu has been getting smaller the food and service worse the whole time two trips ago it was so bad i wont be going back and i used to go there every other month or so. theres to many other resterants to try to put up with bad food and service

I love this thread! :) With opinions so split, it goes to show that experiences can be very different at the same place.
I for one am in the group who will not return to Tonys. ;) I love a good pasta with marinara sauce(probably my favorite meal) and ordered that on our 1 visit back in 98. Then I think it was 18.00 for the spaghetti and meatballs which I wouldnt mind paying at all if it were good, but when it came covered in green crunchy leaves, I wasnt thrilled with it. Plus our table was being attacked by fruit flies and when we told our server and asked to be moved, he said sorry, we couldnt move. So after dodging bugs and having overpriced yucky food, we were not impressed.

We usually eat there twice each trip for lunch. I've heard tons of negative things about Tony's, yet I've never experienced any of them myself. The baked ziti is awesome.

Thanks to all that write reviews good or bad. It makes our choices so much easier for when we are there.

We love Tony's! We've eaten there many times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Most often lunch, since we find it more reasonably priced. We've found the CM's to be WONDERFUL -especially Marlene! We'll never forget all of the wonderful surprises they had for DD's 4th birthday (nothing planned-just spur of the moment stuff). I enjoy many things on the menu, while DW insists on having spaghetti! Yes, it's overpriced. We joke about this everytime, but she still insists on Tony's spaghetti (When Momma's happy, everyone's happy!).

We were there 2 weeks ago for lunch--first PS of the lunch. Bridgette (GREAT!!) was our server. Good table and good food. I had the cheaper version of lunch spag. mballs, dh had grilled panini sandwich with minestrone soup ( he liked both), kids had ravioli and chick. tenders. They loved it!! We all great meals. Lunch is a more reasonably priced meal, and we had it early with just a very light bkfast that day. Don't rule Tony's out in my book. Del

Actually a bottle of soda is only $2.

Seems to be $2 in the parks, still $2.50 if you want to buy one in the resorts or from a vending machine.

Went once, won't go back. Disney dining is expensive but their prices were ridiculous. The food was good, not great, and about twice the price of a comparable off-property Italian restaurant.

Ate there Dec. 4th, 2004...

I thought the food was very good, myself! I did tease BF about ordering the spaghetti for $19! I told him for that much money he should be more adventerous! My eggplant dish was very yummy, and our server was very nice!

It is pricey, more than the food is worth (but not by much). But it's a sit down place at MK, what do you expect? I go to WDW knowing that nothing there is cheap, but that the quality is higher as well. I feel I get value for my money.

If you want value for a sit down try the Plaza restaurant. They have great sandwiches, and unbeleivable shakes and deserts! And I beleive their prices are a bit lower.

As some posters have noted..you either love Tony's are you hated it, but I think when it comes to Italian foods people have a wide ranging opinion. Maybe it is because there are 14 different ethnic styles to Italian cooking or maybe Tony's has changed along with Disney's consumer/visitor orientation.

Personally, we found Tony's to be disappointing. Soggy pizza crust indicating the staff were/are poorly trained in knowing how to properly prepare and bake a pizza to Tony's very simple tomato and flat sauces. I think the issues behind Tony's issues are more related to the changes made by Disney's management and their cutbacks.

We heard Tony's was a good place to eat, but we found otherwise...despite it's exciting location.

I ordered the NY steak based on the recommendation of my server, he said it was "the best thing on the menu", well he lied! It was a tough steak and over cooked.

I got the same thing a few weeks ago at the VMCP on 12.2. Wow-was it dry and overcooked. I liked Tonys the last time we went too. On 12.2 the service was very good and the salad I got was tasty. They did comp me a dessert since I told him the steak was bad. I did not really eat much of it though so that was a waste.
