Hi All!

I need major HELP!

I have reserved a 10 day stay at Port Orleans Riverside with tickets for my family of 5 :grouphug: (DH,DS1,DS2,DS3 and me) for June 28th - July 7th. This cost me a total of $3300 :confused3

I've been trying to decide if we should go ahead and get the AP passes instead :confused3 . I think this is our best bet and then I can go ahead and plan another trip right after because we don't want to loose our AP's... :teeth: .

My question is: If I call Disney Reservations and tell them that I have an AP will they make the changes? And if any codes come out before we go :worship: can I call Disney Reservations and get the discount?

Am I doing this right? When I go online to Disney and try to book a room only at POR - it says they can't accomodate us.... :confused3

Please Help!

Welcome Ely,

I was able to get $140.49 (incl. tax) for a standard room at POFQ using the AAA rate for late April. We're also thinking seriously about getting APs this year and making more than one trip -- APs for my 3 year-old, DH and I are pricing out at $1126. So, if you are able to rebook getting the same AAA rate for a standard room, you'd be looking at something like $2600, including the cost of an AAA card, room, and APs. Personally, I would call CRO to change the reservation to a room-only at the AAA rate (have to have the card at check-in, but not at time of reservation), and keep an eye out for AP rates. If you change your mind and decide you want regular Park Hoppers, you can always add them at any time.

Also, you may want to look into the DDE (Disney Dining Experience) card -- check out the restaurants board on this site. The DDE card saves 20% off your meals at most sit-down restaurants in the world, including Boatwright's at POR. I believe it costs $50. You have to have an AP to get DDE, but if you plan to eat at several sit-down meals, you could save some $$.

Enjoy your trip!

My numbers don't include the tax or shipping on the tickets, roughly $90. Also, I'm assuming that DS1 is 1 year-old, DS2 is 2 years-old, etc, which may be incorrect. Still, I would call to see if the AAA rate is available for your stay and price your package a la carte, with and without APs to find the best option. A lot of work, but I've been able to save hundreds at Disney doing this in the past.
