Tomorrow (Wednesday) we are driving from Vero Beach to our stay at the Boardwalk. Can someone please provide comment about the best highway to drive with the rain /wind/possible busier movement on highways... looking for least stressful drive in inclement weather,, A1A, 1, or I 95 ?

I don't have the answer to the least stressful drive but this web page might be of help:

edit: This is an interactive map, be sure select the info you need from the map legend

thank u so very much... i appreciate your time to assist . We are going to make the best of our long awaited DW visit. not sure what to expect the next few days in DW/Orlando.... Disney's Vero Beach was wonderful as always.. enjoy your day, my DVC friend

I prefer 95 to 528 to 4 but that’s just me. I hate 95 when it’s pouring rain. You could take 60 over and then north to Disney.

The rain is usually worse around 5:00 these days so I would travel early.

Enjoy your trip.

I’d rather drive in a blizzard any day than pouring rain on 95.

You could take US 1 up to 192 in Melbourne. I think that goes all the way to Disney through Kissimmee.

DH has to take 95 home from work tonight. I’ll ask him if it’s bad when he gets home.

Whatever you do, I think the earlier you travel, the better off you’ll be.

528 is a toll road. FYI.

If you need anything like water or gas, I would get it here. We were easily able to get water the other day and gas (eventually.) Things might become more difficult to get the closer you get to Orlando.

The three stations close to us in Sebastian were temporarily out of gas the other night.

Have you made the drive today? It loooks like we are going to get a break from the rain for a bit.
