Yes, for us, it’s the beachfront property we just can’t afford. We live .9 miles from the beach in our Cape May home.

I think that’s the biggest obstacle Vero And HHI both have. I can go to the beach “anywhere”. Why do I need to go to Disney?

It doesn’t help that VB and HHI aren’t everyone’s cup of tea even for a beachfront vacation either. That, coupled with the initially much higher buy-in requirement for DVC (that has been shared recently in another thread), I could imagine having been a hugely limiting factor in the lengthy time it took to sell Vero points.

I hope they keep it post 2042… It is a very nice resort property, great restaurant, nice people, has a spa, decent pool for the size of the resort, etc.

Not across the street. Disney still owns a portion of the land - the tennis/basketball courts, lake, etc. They started excavating/working for the new homes when we were there last March. We could see it when we took a walk across the street I wonder if they are finished/almost finished.

Do you ever drive around in that area? I will ask my friend when I see her next week if she has visited the resort recently - but might not have wandered/walked there. They have dinner at the resort sometimes. They just got back a few weeks ago. They have a home in Vero Beach too.

I live a whopping 9 minutes from the resort, however it’s a bit out of the way to anyplace we frequent.
We do, on occasion, eat at Wind & Waves or visit the Green Cabin Room.
