Disney Updates: Workers were putting finishing touches on their new ramp. A project manager reports its made of a special composite which, unlike wood, will not threaten bare feet with splinters and will be stronger and more durable against the corrosive salty sea air which affects everything so aversely as beachside homeowners know so well. The end can be removed when high tides and storms threaten. A source says she got an inch-long splinter from the wooden ramp which really hurt. Disneys made a smart move with these new ramp and beachside stair changes.

This sounds like it may help the problem of the steps washing away. Also, I found the note about needing a room key to access the beach interesting. It's a shame that pool crashers are such a problem.
