Vero Info please?

Are beach umbrellas and chairs provided by Disney at Vero Beach or do they have some to rent? If they have rentals how much do they run a day/week? Anyone know? Since I am flying won't have room to bring them. Instead of renting is it cheaper to stop at Walmart and buy an umbrella and a couple of chairs?

It is much cheaper to stop at Walmart and pick up an umbrella and a couple of chairs. But, it is much more convenient to rent the ones they have there. They set them up for you each morning and they looked very comfortable. But, if you plan to spend little time in the sand, it may not be worth the expense.

Last year, we had a beach chair exchange. It went pretty good and we were all "supposed" to chip in and share the expense of the chairs when the first person did the upfront expense of the initial purchase. I am not sure if everyone sent their money to the original purchaser but I do know that at least a couple of us did for sure. If you are leaving early in the season, you may want to start one for this summer.

It's been a while, so my information is not current. I think we paid around $21 per day for 2 chairs and an umbrella. There was not a weekly rate when we were there.

There is a discount for being a DVC member. I can't remember the cost but I think it was 21-24 per day for an umbrella and 2 chaise chairs with cushions. They are rented on a daily basis, no weekly rentals last year. The rental person told my sons that they should pay in advance for our entire stay (4 days) because they may run out of chairs and umbrellas. He pointed out that he was almost sold out. Well we counted the number of chairs and umbrellas that day and discovered that as the days went on more chairs and umbrellas appeared. We were there the first week in August and the resort was sold out on Saturday ( our arrival day). I know we would have saved a bundle buying chairs.

we will be there June 1st thru the 4th and would love to chip in if someone is starting a swap before we get there--we could even add rafts and the pails to it (I'll even donate mine)

I wouldlove to also know more about the kids programs have DD6 and we've not been to Vero before!
