We just got back from a week at our home resort at Vero Beach. We were driving down I-95 on frday night, and I have never seen as many accidents as we saw that night. There must have been 10 to 15 accidents, many where peope were run off the road and on the side in the trees. There were many reckless single drivers who were weaving in and out of the traffic which was all moving 75+, some even using the median to pass. If your a member heading to your Vero beach home resort during a busy traffic time, make sure your have plenty of rest and are ready for it, defensive driving is needed from Jacksonville on (still lots of jacksonville construction). We talked to one lady from Boca Raton who suggested the roads were so busy because people were driving instead of flying and the road system wasn't built to handle it.

Fellow Vero Beach visitors, careful out there.

CM.....we were at VB from Sunday to Wednesday. The weather certainly didn't look good on Wednesday morning - I hoped it cleared up for you and was good the rest of your week. We didn't notice any accidents but we did notice an over abundance of FHP cars on the eastern side of the state. Obviously if there were many accidents it would warrant the extra patrol cars that we encountered.

The last few Vero trips, I've started spending the first night at Disney and then heading down fresh to Vero. You never know when you're going to hit accidents, thunderstorms, etc. and they'd all be easier to deal with after a good night's sleep. (I never sleep well when I know I'm flying.) It's not impossible to make the trip by any means but I like doing it this way when I've got the time to spare.
