Vero for a week? Would we get bored?

We are considering going to Vero for a week this summer. We already have a reservation but we are concerned about getting bored. We went to Vero several years ago but that was only for 4 nights. Our children were very small then and the beach was difficult with them at that age. They are now 8 and 11. We are so used to the fast paced Disney trips we are not sure what to do with just a beach...???

I know there isn't much around Vero and that is my biggest concern. We don't plan on driving anywhere to site see. It's more for just resort hang out.

We have been to Vero twice and to HH. We like them both but Vero for us is a 2-3 night stay. Great pool and slide and activities. Nice kayaking too. Just did not think there was not a lot to do. Great if you want to relax it is our pre cruise hotel.

I think you might want to consider spending three nights at Vero and then three or four nights at Disney World. It's only about an hour and a half drive from one to the other. Unless the children love the beach, there's not much else there to do.

We would be bored for that long. The beach isn't nice, unless there have been improvements since we last visited.

We went to VB for 3 nights once after a full week at Disney and it was the perfect way to unwind...but a week would be too long for us. The town rolls up the carpet at 9:00 PM...the beach was steep and had lots of seaweed when we were there...I think 3 or 4 nights tops at Vero if combined with a few days at the World.

We stayed for 5 nights in June once. My 8yr old son enjoyed the pool. My teenage daughters were bored out of their minds. They called it zero beach. The no see ums kept us inside at night. So I believe a week is too long to spend at Vero

We love vero. We stayed a week last time 8 nights booked for oct. each time we go we add more. Ights and we still have not made it too bath tub reef. We spend a day at the Sebastian inlet. The kids do the fishing across the rode. We love the pool and ocean. My kids are 6 and 8. We would all rather go to vb then wdw. The horrors lol we do 5 nights at wdw the. A week at vero

We went in 2009 and found it extremely boring. The pool is nice but not as nice as some at WDW. The beach was hard to get down on to (with my baby) and had no real facilities. The surrounding area is just other gated hotels and communities. Fine for a 1-2 night romantic get away with other other half, with kids - no way. I would go to WDW and just spend the days at the resorts. That way if you get bored you can head to dtd or one of the parks.

That is what I thought... I would really love to get a reservation at HH but that is not possible. We love action. We have been to Vero so I know what it's like. We stayed 4 days and we felt it was 1 day too long. However my kids were VERY young and I thought that was part of the reason.

I am trying to force myself away from Disneyworld and I just keep coming back. I would almost rather sit around a Disney pool than the beach...I know TERRIBLE... We haven't been to the beach in so long that I feel like I am depriving my children...LOL

Split stays would be great but I was hoping to avoid buying new AP's until Dec.

We went for the first time two summers ago for 3 nights. It was too short. Arrival and departure hardly counts. Next time definitely 4/5 night. We did not look for anything to do except relax and check out Vero. Not sure if there is anything nearby but will explore next time so we can plan how many nights.

, my boys are 11/15 and we do 5-7 nights at VB. They enjoy boogie boarding and just taking it easy, especially if we go for spring break.

But then again they surprise me with their vacation ideas sometimes. We just did a week in Washington DC(Wyndham Old Town Alexandria), they loved it. They suggested going to the Smokey Mountains in June to hike.

I love VB, it sort of puts me in mind of our family trips to Sanibel Island back in the 70's. Not overly built and very quiet area.

I know that we would be bored. But, we aren't "beach" people-- being FL residents we are pretty acustomed to laying about by the pool or beach and on our vacations we like to DO things.

I think it really just depends on what kind of vacation you're looking for.

We go down sometimes and just stay at WDW without going to the parks. There is so much to do without going to the parks. The resorts themselves, the pools, Downtown Disney, miniature golf, Disney Quest. There is so much to do in the Orlando area (if you want to go off property and stay at DVC that is sometimes fun too!)

Thanks, we were down there back in 2010. I think the kids really suggested it because they really liked the cabana you could rent at the pool at the newish Wyndham resort. .

As in every day life, your attitude effects your experience.

Vero Beach is a beautiful resort. It has a great pool with organized activities, if you choose to join in.

The beach was steep when we were there last year and the waves depend on the recent weather conditions, but that's Nature.

It is a fairly compact resort, so it's easy for walking. There are restaurants, musical entertainment, mini-golf, tennis, basketball, and spa services on site.

The banjo player on the Back Porch was a lot of fun.
I saw families enjoying the Pirates Dinner.
The seafood buffet evening was very good.
If it rains, the CMs do indoor games with the kids.

I'm not a year after year beach person, but Vero is a great place to relax for a week.
