We have never stayed at Vero. What is the difference between the Inn rooms and a Studio?

Do any of the studios have ocean view?

I haven't stayed there, either. I do know Inn Rooms have two real beds, while studios have the bed and sleeper sofa format. That would be a big difference for me.

Well now... the real difference is whether you get an Ocean View Inn Room (OVIR) or a Garden View Inn Room (GVIR). The OVIR gives you a direct view of the ocean, the Garden view might be a view of the parking lot. The studios are in the out-buildings (not like a porta-potty) They just are in smaller buildings that are not going to give you any view other than the walkway around the buildings. All things considered...... you still need to be diligent about getting an OCEAN FACING Inn room, because you can get an OVIR that is actually facing the pool, but still has an off-to-the side view of the ocean.

We love the OVIR rooms. The OVIR rooms in general have two queen beds. It is my understanding that there are four rooms on the fourth floor that have a king and sleeper sofa. The studios have that King bed/sleeper sofa format. This year we are going to try for one of those king/sofa rooms in the Inn.

Both the studio and the inn room have a bar sink, microwave, and small refrigerator. Typically, we prefer a one bedroom that has a full kitchen and full laundry in the unit, but we just love the view and sounds when staying in the OVIR.

Soooo....... we typically switch between the OVIR and the one bedroom from vacation to vacation.

Bottom line... I would never choose a studio over an OVIR room at VB. We prefer the view to the bedding arrangement.

Hi there Mr. "R"....:goodvibes ...when I made my ressie for August, I requested the 4th floor, middle of building with an open balcony. The CM told me the king size bedroom units OVIR had closed balcony's. Since you have been there, you would know. But thought I would mention this just in case this proves to be true.

We too chose an Oceanview Inn room in lieu of a studio to get the better view. We had stayed in a studio an only got to see a smidgen of the beach from the corner of the porch. BUT - when we checked in for our "Ocean View" Inn room, we were put in one of the pool rooms with a sideways look at the ocean. We had checked in early enough to go back to the desk and ask to be moved to another OceanView with a full view of the ocean. It wasn't ready, so we took a trip to the local WalMart to stock up on sundries and when we came back, we relaxed on our porch with a full-on ocean view! :cloud9:

This is true. If you look at the center 3 rooms on the 4th floor that are under the arch opening. To the left and right are dormer type closed balconies that house the 2 king OVIR's. I think there might be one GVIR facing the other direction and the fourth corner of the lobby being the laundry room. Can you see the dormer that I am refering, to the left of center?

Actually, we've never been in one of these units, but are going to try snatch one this June.

Thanks, Lisa. I was trying to figure it out and I've been trying make it be the at the ends of the building, but now I understand it is the 4 corners of the lobby rooms with one being the laundry. So, I am asuming there is one garden view king room.

You know, I've been there so many times, but I just don't pay attention to stuff like this. I'm going be diligent in June though and do my on-sight studying. In 2006 the tropical storm Ernesto came through when we were there and people were asked to stay in the main building for a day (we chose not to). But come to find out they have a sizeable movie theatre down the hall from the lobby. They had popcorn machines out and the kids were having a blast.

Later, gators. :)

Do all of the Inn rooms have balconies? And should I call member services ahead of time to request an Ocean FACING room? We have a OVIR reserved but I wonder if I should make that a specific request or just wait til we arrive?

Yes. In fact, I think all DVC rooms have balconies (above ground, of course). No use trying to reserve an ocean facing room. Just be sure to ask for it when you check in, and if they don't have one ready ask if one will become available, and if so, then you can be next on the list for the next available one. They can tell you which units will be available and they will put your name on that room if you want.

Your right Rob all DVC units have balconies ....with one tiny exception, a single lock-off studio at VWL (not all lock-off studios at VWL).

The ocan view inn rooms take more points than a garden view inn room. You must make that distinction when making a reservation. Yes, I know you may get a side view, but those are ocean view rooms. Also cell phones don't always work in the total ocean view rooms. Many people are out in the lobby using their phones. They tend to work great with the garden view rooms.

Thanks for the info. We'll ask at check-in about ocean-facing then.

What about housekeeping? It's the same as usual for DVC regardless of if you're in an Inn room or a Villa, right? 4th day trash/towel??

Do any of the one bedroom villas have an ocean view?
