I'm making my first reservation for Vero Beach. I need a 2 bedroom unit. Should I request a dedicated or lockoff 2 bedroom?

What are the pros/cons of each?

I recall reading somewhere that dedicated 2 bedrooms are near the front of the resort/road, and the lockoffs are closer to the ocean. Can anyone confirm that? Do the lockoffs have better views?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I called Vero Beach yesterday with the same question. The cast member said the dedicated 2 bedrooms face west, so you will not have an ocean view. If you book a 2 bedroom lock off, you will either face east (ocean view if you're on the 3rd floor), north, or south. So you have a 1/3 chance of getting an ocean view with a 2 bedroom lock off IF you're on the third floor.

We were originally in a dedicated 2 bedroom for November and tried to switch to a 2 bedroom lock off since we really want an ocean view. Unfortunately, all the 2 bedroom lock offs were booked, so we ended up just booking 2 separate Deluxe Inn Ocean View rooms. It saved us 12 points on our reservation as well.

That's true, all 2 BR dedicated are on the end of the building nearest the road and all units on that end of the buildings are dedicated, there are no other dedicated 2 BR units, all the rest on each floor are lockoff's. I'd suggest a l/o and request highest floor nearest ocean.

I think it's actually a 50/50 chance of an ocean facing lockoff, as there are two which face east (if you exit the elevator, one room to the left and one to the right), then the north and south facing rooms.

Thank you! I'll definitely request a lock-off unit - I'd rather than some chance at an ocean view rather than none!

L/O vs dedicated is a direct reservation, not a request. Also, even the L/O that are not on the end nearest the ocean are closer and more likely to have a glancing blow of the ocean than the dedicated units.
