Could anyone who has been to Vero Beach tell me if they liked it or not. Trying to organize a family reunion for Labor Day weekend. Hilton Head booked up solid. Is Vero Beach unbearably hot late Aug - early Sept. Is there enough to do for adults, plus teenagers. Are there restaurants and shops nearby? Is the beach nice?
Any info would be deeply appreciated.

We were at VB last Oct. and are going again the last week in March. We had a great time. It is a little isolated which we like but we certainly found enough to do. The beach is great and the pool is large and relaxing.

Good luck.

There are restaurants and shops nearby but you need a car to get to them. Right at the resort you get the ocean breeze that helps with the August heat. Once you head inland it will be hot and humid.

My wife and I just returned from Vero. We were there 3/04 - 3/10. Both of us loved it and found it very relaxing.

There is an excellent pool and kids of all ages seemed to be enjoying it. Great beach.

However, I think you need a car if you stay at Vero. Also, I suspect teenagers would become bored after a day or so. For us, after a week at Boardwalk and the parks, Vero was a wonderful week of pure rest and relaxation.

We love Vero Beach. We spend a lot of time at the pool and the beach. My teens love going to the VB Mall. There is a multiplex cinema there and all their favorite stores. The downtown gift shops are really great to visit too! I don't think it is any hotter there in the summer than anywhere else in FL. We have been in the summer and in the spring and enjoyed all our visits no matter which time of year. :)

We're a bit worried that our almost teens (DD-12 & DS-9) will not have enough to do at the resort. I know that VB has miniature golf, campfires (are they nightly?) and activities for various ages of kids (where can I find a list before we go?). I've heard that there are a number of activities (boat rides & manatee watching) along the Indian River area?!?

How far is it to the VB Mall from the resort? It will be our DH's birthday while we are there and a mother/daughter shopping trip would be an ideal birthday gift. Maybe we'll send the boys on a golf day? How expensive is golfing? Our 9 year old is fairly good, but I wouldn't want to spend over $100 for a round.

Dream it and you're there!

The VB Mall as well as a large outlet center are about 20 minutes from the resort on State Road 60.
