hi everyone, we are going to vero beach in aug. (9-16th to be exact). Anyhow, we have never been there before, can anyone tell me what it's like? We have a 7yr old daughter, what can she do while we are there? Any suggestions, info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, maggie

We were there for the first time last year in October. Even though it was "off-season", there were many activities for our two older kids (then - 5 and 8). There was miniature golf, archery lessons, pool games, crafts, so many things I can't even remember it all. They loved the campfire and the night we left them in the care of CM for organized children's activities. We enjoyed a evening of fine dining without them (although we still had youngest son with us). We enjoyed our stay so much, we're going again this year! Hope you have a great time. It's a relaxing place to visit!

nicurn,

As gracelrm has posted, there are a lot of activities for kids. Also your 7 yr old daughter will love the pool there. The resort is small enough that you are only a 5 minute walk to anything (pool, putt-putt, ocean, on-site restraunts.
Also, if you want to go to a mall, it is only a 15 minute drive, there is a food court there, 24 movies, etc. There are all types of chain restraunts 10-15 minutes away (TGIF,Outback,Bob Evans,Chili's, Ruby Tuesday, etc)
Just ask at the front desk (main lobby of the INN) and they will give you a map with directions.
Have a great time!!!!!!

It's going to be HOT and likely to be busy as it's summer season , so you'll need to book activities etc early. They run an "unbirthday party" most days but this gets very popular and you'll need to be up early to book it as it is ( I think) first come first served at the activities window by the pool and you have to be there in person ( no calling on phone) as SOON AS THEY OPEN. . It is limited in numbers, because it is usually early afternoon and therefore at the hottest time of the day it is a good way to keep the youngsters out of the sun for at least a small part of the day. There is a nature area nearby, not sure about turtle watches at that time of year and a trip to the Treasure Museum.
