Hello All-

We would really like to get our hands on one of the Vero Beach Cottage houses but we own at SSR and are worries about the 9mos booking window.

What do you think are chances are for sometime in June-August 2009 getting one?

I don't have any firsthand knowledge of this question, but my gut feeling is that you will have a difficult time getting a BC in the summer months at 7 months (I was assuming you mistyped the 9). My impression is that the spring (from Pres. Week through end of April) and summer (after Memorial Day through Mid Aug) are busy times at VB and would be difficult to reserve. The weekends may be easier to get since the points are about double. Now you never know until you try but I wouldn't count on it since there are only 6 cottages and there are people like me who purchase a contract just to reserve a BC with their points. Waitlists are also a wonderful thing. Reserve three inn rooms and go on the wait list and see what happens.

Let's put it this way. I own at VB, and through an error I mis-calculated the 11 month window date to start calling. I call two days late, and all six of the BC were booked for the days I wanted this June. I'm on the wait list, but I'm not confident I'll get it. If you don't call exactly at 11 months you are fairly locked out of the BC's.

Thank you for the responses.

I am hoping that since we are 100% flexible for any days min of 4 max of 7 from Mid June till Labor day that SOMETHING will appear.

Yes, I made a mistake with the 7mos window..i meant 9mos..even better

What a beautiful resort VB is.

Please report back after you try. I like to hear firsthand experiences with booking VB BC.

do you guys know about last-minute availability if you are flexible with ocean view inn room, garden view room or studio room? has anyone actually seen the garden views? we are renting pts and considering waiting to do so until the last minute to save money...but we are taking chances on availability since Thanksgiving week. Thanks guys!

I own at VB....I want to ressie a BC in October. I will only have enough points for 3 days, will suppliment with OVIR's. Do you think it will be as hard in Oct? Of course I will be calling at 9a at 11mos!

We have a beach cottage booked for March 15 to the 20th. I own at SSR, and booked at the 7 month mark. I was very surprised we got it. The lady who took the reservation thought March was an odd time for a beach vacation, but Florida is usually fairly warm in March, just not the ocean. Well good luck getting your reservation.

I just booked for Feb 8 - 13 and all they had left is garden view. I would be so very interested in anyone's take on a garden view room that had stayed in one. We're waitlisted for an ocean view. The air fare from Chicago was 150.00 rt + taxes, so we are going for 300.00 plus bag check fee. We are looking forward to a nice laid back cheap vacation in the middle of winter.

I am about a week out from trying for a 7month booking for our August Family trip. I will be trying to get 3 nights in a two bedroom villa. Anyone have any thoughts on my chances. I will be trying for Aug. 9-12. I have those nights right now at our home resort AKV, but want to spend the 1st part of our trip at Vero.

We have had garden view rooms several times. Some of these have been end rooms with a partial ocean view. The garden view is still very nice, a view of much of the local area. If you are using cell phones and a phone card in your computer, this room works better for reception. There are no cell towers in the ocean. We are usually not in our room very much anyway. There is a very nice lobby with several seating groups.

March is PRIME tourist season for Vero Beach. You were lucky! Enjoy the cottage.
