Vero Beach sales Disney vs. Resale

Hi.

We'd like to buy an add-on of 150 Vero Beach points. Does anyone know what Disney is doing regarding ROFR at Vero? Seems like there's plenty available through resale ($60-65/point) but not sure if Disney will just buy them all up. Anyone with any recent info?

I just had a 150 point contract at Vero for $58.00 a point bought back by Disney... It had 60 banked points from 2002, and all 150 coming due this december

That would have been quite a deal. What are you going to do now?

We just did a 100 pt add-on at VB through Disney(MB's).It was $69 pt. Our use yr is Sept so we sold back 2002 pts and will get 100 pts this Sept again.

We chose to go through Disney because of the easiness of it(over phone,credit card,FF miles ). If you go re-sale for a small contract, you will end up paying $350-$450 for closing anyway.Which will end up costing you $4-$5 more per pt anyway.
Our guide said our use yr (Sept) is sold out now,after our add-on He said VB will be completely sold out with-in a few months, thats why we did our "final add-on", so we have all the same use yrs(Sept) with our OKW (300) and VB(300) contracts.
We enjoy VB a lot, and plan on getting the Beach Cottage every other year for family, and a few days added on our OKW visits.

Typically, how long does a resale take from start to finish?

I've read some posts about resales taking as little as two weeks from start to finish, and others taking as long as six weeks or more. One major factor is how long Disney takes on their ROFR. Our contract got through Disney in 10 days; some people have had waits of up to four weeks to hear back. The hold-up for us as far as closing was that our seller lives in Venezuela and it took him three weeks to get his documents notarized at the U.S. Embassy due to the war. We started our process on Feb. 14 and finally closed April 1.
