We are interested in staying a couple of days at Disney's Vero Beach..Many of you here on Dis boards are so educated on Disney Properties and I will need your help. It is a great resort, w/ is the best room to request, are their things for kids to do, is there a website I can go to for this info. Also we are celebrating DD's 9th birthday, is their something magical for her to do, anything else I forgot to mention that might be helpful...

I really appreciate your help..my fellow friends at dis are great and I will be the lady w/the lime green badana on her hot red srroller.

We spent five nights in a studio on the first floor. We did not have a view of the ocean, but it was sure nice being on the first floor to move about without the elevators and such.
Lots of things to do for the kids. They will give you a list of things going on for the time frame that you are there upon check in.
They have waterslide races, and campfires and many other things. They had soccer and pool basketball. Most things are free (like the things I mentioned). They also have some things for the children that cost a small fee.
We hope you love it as much as we did.

when we there we had a two br villa. a couple of times a week they have a campfire and make s'mores, don't burn your lips. therfe is a nine hole mini golf course, and croquet court. our dd who was 6 at the time did a tennis lesson, take sneakers. the pool is great and has a neat slide. we also did the character breakfast with goofy and max. i think that they had a sea turtle exploration for kids as well. it was quite fun and very relaxing.

As for room requests, which size villa will you be booking? If you are trying to decide between a studio or an inn room....studios are all in the outside villa bldng's and will only have partial ocean views if at all most times...also a studio will have 1 queen bed and a pull out sofa with a kitchenette. An Inn room on the other hand will have 2 queen beds and the kitchenette and you can book either an inn room "ocean view" or "garden view". Ocean view inn rooms obviously will give you the ocean view ...either head on or caddy corner...but you'll get the ocean view.

If you're booking a 1 or 2 bdrm villa or a beach cottage.....requesting upper floors will give you a better chance of getting an ocean view since lower floors won't be able to see over the vegetation (this would also be true of studios and requesting upper floors). Beach cottages all have a view of the ocean. Bldng.14 is right next to the pool area and we had a 1bdrm villa on the 3rd floor with a wonderful ocean view this past May for a week.

As for activites, they will give you a schedule of them at check in. There are alot everyday for all ages. My kids were 18 mos and 4 and did things like sidewalk chalk, bubbbles, tot treasure hunt, limbo at the pool,mini-golf,the un-birthday party which is a must:) There was so much to do and most activities were free!

Have a wonderful trip~ you're going to love VB!!:D
