We were at VB once in 1996 but only for 3 nights. Our 4 month old was sick, so I didn't get a chance to enjoy resort at all.
We are here now and I must say, it is a beautiful resort! We are staying in a 2 bedroom ... it is immaculately clean and upkept, beautiful, bright colors. We can see the ocean from our livingroom.
There is but a few step walk to the beach, which I think is a big advantage over Hilton Head (although I like HH too!) Last night, we went for a walk on the beach and it was so peaceful. You could see every star in the sky and the only sound was that of the waves. And with this heat (we come from NJ and have had a hot summer), it was so lovely on the beach in the evening...my 6 year old wore her jacket!
The pool is large and Mickey shaped...it has a great windy slide which my DH, myself and two kids are taking great advantage of.
Excellent Pina Coladas too.
We ate in Shutters last night and it is great for families. Food was very good and I very much like having a full service rest. on property (another advantage over HH). There is another fancier rest., Sonya's which we are trying tomorrow night for Italian buffet night.
Tons of activities for kids, something to keep them busy off and on all day long. Today, they had a Swimming Safety lesson, did crafts and we'll do the campfire at night. Before we leave, they'll also do Archery, Snorkeling, Bocce, Kayaking, and a few other things. They are loving it here and so are we!!
We'll definitely be back! If you haven't used your points at VB and would like a great beach vacation, you should definitely try it out!
