So live about 2 hours from Vero Beach and have some points that I need to use. I live on the beach in South Florida but thinking a long weekend in Vero with that Disney touch would be nice.
I see availability on Inn rooms and studios.
first question is if we’re just there for a weekend and won’t cook or anything would you recommend a studio or inn room?
second is there a lot to do or just lay on the beach?
third how Is the dining at the resort and is there much dining nearby? Really just want a relaxing weekend
any input appreciated as I have never been there

First question…The difference would be the Inn room is in the main building, similar to a hotel and has two queen beds. The Studio has one queen and a sofa and is in the outer villa buildings.
It may depend on how many people.

Sure. It depends on how many people, and how much you are comfortable with each other... I mean, money and points being no object, I’d recommend the 3 BR guest houses…. But….

Not much to do… VB is very chill… they have some games, sometimes a bonfire/marshmallows night, a spa, pools, and some dining. But you’re not going aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship… Very calm, very chill vibe.

We enjoy Wind & Waves Grille. Also, there is a nice bar upstairs - the green cabin room. There is not much else walking distance from the resort. However, you are about 10-15 minutes from the Vero Beach Beachfront shops (which is different from ”downtown vero beach”). There there are a few good to great restaurants. Favorites by many include:
- Ocean Grille
- Cobalt
- The restaurant at Costa D’Este
- The Tides
- Bobby’s
- Citrus Grille
- Polo Grille

There is another shopping district called “Miracle Mile” a bit further from the resort - about 20 minutes…. And there is the “downtown district” about 15-20 minutes away as well. It is important to note the location is rather isolated - which appeals to us - but might not for everyone.

We spent 2 nights at Vero in June. We stayed in an inn room. I thought it was perfect when you're not planning to cook as you're in the main building, closer to things. We just had 1 full day to enjoy the resort. There's a 9 hole mini golf by the pool. There's a community hall (near the pool), but we never entered it. There is a sit down restaurant in the inn building that you can make reservations for thru open table (which we did). We did a dinner and breakfast there, good food. There is a counter service/market area by the pool and the pool bar also has some food. The Green Cabin bar area wasn't open last June but they had a cart set up in the hallway to Wind and Waves restaurant with pastries, etc in the morning and I think some bar drinks at night. I believe they had some activities going on in the lobby during the day as well. And of course there is the beach. Depending upon the time of year there may be turtle activities. We saw some beach areas roped off for turtle nests.

What everyone else has mentioned. - there are bikes on site also.

I think it would be perfect for a night or two and use up some points. So many restaurants to try. 6 nights has been our longest stay and never cooked. We do have breakfast in the room.

If you are interested in a Brewery, water sports, museums, horseback riding, river cruises, there are things to keep you busy.

I believe the pool will be closed in 1/2024 - 3/2024.

We’ve gone out several times for two nights each time but I told my wife after our last stay we should stay longer next time. I’d like to rent bikes and ride around a bit. My wife and daughter did a craft during our last stay. I’m also planning on going to McKee Gardens next time.

Thanks just two of us so we would probably be better at the Inn

Wow thanks for all the info. Sounds perfect for a nice weekend away to relax

We love to ride bikes and just a chill weekend sounds perfect

We just got back from a 3-night stay at VB. We were in an Inn room and loved it! I had also debated between the Studio or the Inn room. When I went to book the room, the Inn room was all that was left. After talking to some other DVC members while we were there, I'm glad we got the Inn room. They said those are much better than the Studio's.

In addition to what everyone else mentioned, they also do the Movie nights and Campfire nights like the WDW DVC resorts do. Their spa was also open.

We loved our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Do the Inn Rooms at VB have the standard DVC studio amenities (toaster, coffee maker, fridge)? I think I've seen some conflicting info out there. Booked my first stay there for May!

Is Vero that popular? I think I check like almost every Friday to Sunday for the rest of the year and couldn’t find a single room? Is that possible?

All room types are available last weekend of August. I’m pretty sure they’ll be plenty of rooms open September to December.

I think VB has become more popular post-Covid. Some DVC members “discovered” that it could be a nice change from a park-intensive WDW stay, just relaxing by the pool or on the beach. We’ve been tacking on a few days at VB after our WDW stays, unwinding from all the close contact inherent in visiting the parks. Booking studio accommodations at 7 months, we have not been able to get an ocean view room for our last two visits, and have a similar situation near the end of April.
