Hi!

We are considering a short 2 night stay after a stay at BWV in October. In our many Disney travels, we have never made it to Vero. We are debating between Vero or adding 2 nights at OKW (but not visiting parks).

Is there much to do at Vero other than beach or pool? We obviously won't have much time there (a day and a half at best), but we always find it hard to stray from the 'world' because it does offer many dining, shopping, and non-theme park activities as well.

Is there any kind of nice touristy shopping nearby? Are there a lot of restaurant choices for dinner in the area?

Also, we are not sure how the room categories work. Do the studio, 1BR and 2BR villas all have an ocean view? The categories don't explain your view, other than Inn Rooms that list an ocean view. We would not want to go all the way out there and not have a view of the ocean!

Is early October still swimming weather at Vero? Is the pool heated (and warm)?

Any other tips, advice, comments? We are very tempted to just hang out at OKW--we love it there--the nice huge balconies, taking a boat trip to DTD. Just wondering if we would be happy at Vero....:confused3

I really like the VB resort. I've stayed there a few times, always the OV Inn room, but I wouldn't have a problem going with the GV Inn room. My preference is to be in the Inn and not the outer buildings, I just like the feel of being in the main building. As far as what there is to do at the resort, we just sit by the pool during the day. There is a campfire some nights (it might be nightly, I can't remember now).

There really aren't any restaurants nearby, other than Orchid Island Pizza right outside the resort at the traffic light (I love their Miami Cheesesteak!).

There are some shops in Downtown Vero, which is a drive south of the resort. I'm not sure how long it takes, maybe 20 minutes. There are also restaurants and a mall 20-30 minutes south (I think its Indian River), your usual chain places. We go down there almost every night. There is a movie theater down there too.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, I do recommend VB. It's very relaxing.

We have gone to Vero 2 times there is not a lot to do. We love the pool and slides. It is nice to relax. We have stayed at both OV and GV both were nice too. They have a great seafood Buffett on Thursdays. We plan on staying prior to our cruise.
