Hello! My DH, 1.5yr old DD and I are planning our first trip to VB. I did not realize that the Inn rooms had kitchenettes. Since they can guarrantee an ocean view, and the studios cannot, is there any advantage to a studio? I was wondering what others thought about the two types of accomodations and their locations, and where better to go with that question then here? :D Any input would be appreciated. We are going in June for 4nights.

Thanks!
Krista

I would take an oceanview inn room over a studio any day! You will love it!

I too would prefer the Ocean view rooms as they have the same basic size and kitchenette. They do have 2 queen beds instead of a queen plus pullout. They do not guarantee ocean view, only ocean side. You need 3rd floor to be assured you get an ocean view.

OK, I have an Inn Room waitlisted and a studio reserved. Thank you for your input. Is there much difference in beach accessibility between the two units? I'm just trying to figure out why they are given the same point value if the Ocean View Inn Rooms are better. Is it just a matter of preference to be in the large building, or able to step outside your door and be outside? Having never been there, I have only a vague idea of the layout (from the member guidebook). Thanks again for your valuable input!

We stayed in the Inn, on the side away from the ocean. The view, of the front of the resort and trees across the road, was fine - beautiful sunsets, even. At 10 points a night (in August) we thought this was an excellent value. We were not in the room much during the daylight hours, so we did not miss having an ocean view. We liked being in the main building, with easy access to beach and pool. I don't think the studios would be that far away, though, and the paths are nicely landscaped. One down side to the main building was occasional noise at night from people returning to their rooms. You also need to use elevators to access the Inn rooms. Enjoy your trip!
