There are pictures of the resort on Disney's own website.
Disney's Vero Beach resort is a little north of the town of Vero Beach, it is at the borders of Vero and the town of Sebastian. You would need a car to best enjoy the area as there isn't much else in walking distance of the resort.
The level of service is excellent and very much in the Disney tradition for it's higher end hotels. The resort itself has some pretty good restaurant options, although like all of Disney restaurants they are a little pricey. The resort is right on the beach, which is accessed by a walkway. It has an excellent pool area with a very nice slide. They have some good entertainment programs for the kids (of all ages) and also run programs like turtle watches for all the family (these need to be requested well in advance, and even then are not guaranteed). The Inn rooms are in the main building which houses the restaurants, bar, reception/check in areas. There are also the regular
DVC studios, one bedroom, two bedroom and the stunning beach cottages which are all within walking distance of the main building, I would guess all are less than 100 yards from the main building. The beach cottages have great views out over the ocean. The beach itself is relatively narrow and can drop away sharply so a close eye needs to be kept on younger kids, particularly as they can get some strong tides and rough waves here. There is plenty of scope for long walks along the beach as it goes for many miles south and a decent distance north ( to the Sebastian inlet). There are a number of nature options close by as well as Mel Fisher's treasure museum. Vero Town area has some pretty good restaurants and is about a 10 minute drive from the resort.
IMHO it's a very nice resort for a 3/4 day break tacked on the end of a WDW holiday, I don't think it holds up as well as Hilton Head Island as a holiday destination all on it's own.
