VERO BEACH Information & Adoration Thread

Hi, we are staying at VB in May, can anyone recommend a spray for the noseums please. My husband normally gets bitten really badly and from what ive read they're immune to products containing DEET and you are better to buy on resort. TIA
The resort usually has station for repellant lotion around the resort. Enjoy your stay

We are planning a New Year's Eve trip for 4 nights next December. Can anyone give any advice for staying there during that time? Will there be any special things going on? or things more shut down? Places we should check out or eat? We are flying into PBI.

We are thinking some spa appointments, nice dinners, relaxation and outdoor fun. We are from WI so even if its cooler there, it should be better than here.

Just booked our first Vero Beach vacation for early June! Was waffling between WDW and VB, but several VB days suddenly opened up today, so I jumped on it. Looking forward to some R&R, and hoping it won’t be too hot yet 🤞. Been reading through this long thread, but any words of advice for first-time visitors are welcome. Plan on visiting the Botanical Gardens, but don’t have anything else planned right now. 😊

We have been in October. Beautiful weather at that time. Watch out for the jellyfish. I think May and June are peak jellyfish season. Others may be able to chime in on that.

Take a spray for the no-see-ums. Early morning and dusk will eat at your ankles.

So...stinging jellyfish and biting gnats...guess I picked a great time...lol!

Any suggestions on a good spray that works well for the no-see-ums?

taking first trip in June and have a couple of questions:

Do we need to bring beach towels?
How do you get reservations to the restaurants?
Does it cost to play mini golf?

Thanks

No you don’t need to bring beach towels. They are provided at Eb and Flo’s. Restaurant reservations are made through Open Table. Mini golf is free to DVC members.

Awesome thanks. I just made my reservations on open table.

One last one (or maybe not) is there pin trading.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been back but I believe so.

There is a paper airplane thing where they teach kids how to make different models and fly them from the various floors down into the lobby in the Inn building.

They also do waterslide races. Only 1 slide but they record times and is broken up into age groups even have one for the adults.

There are dedicated pin trading times (we've never done these) but also pin boards at the front desk, gift shop, wind and waves, and Eb and Flos.

The mini golf is supposed to only be free for DVC but we've never seen them ask or charge anyone.

Here is the activities sheet from when we were there last month:

I would suggest booking view with ocean, we did garden view years ago when we first visited when we bought into DVC, and I wish we had paid for the ocean view (small contract so was not an option). Great resort, kids loved it.
