Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone has been to Vero in July.
I know it's supposed to be roasting hot and very humid, but here's my question.
If my husband and I plan to lay on a beach chair for 8h/day and then go to eat-----is it still unbearable?
I know people go to WDW in July and they are actually doing stuff and survive the heat.
Thanks for any info.

The best places to be in Florida in the summer are on the beach or in the air conditioning. It'll be hot....real hot. But, it gets hot in Schenectady in the summer, too. Your plan sounds like a good one.

Being on the coast, Vero is actually a lot better than Orlando in the summer. I won't say it isn't hot but it's a little better because you are a lot closer to the sea breeze.

Thanks so much for the feedback----I going to try to get a room this summer!!!
I might be nice to just relax for a couple days!!!

We were there this past July, it's our home resort, and it was wonderful. Our room faced the ocean, and the sea breeze was really nice. It's a great place to unwind after a trip to WDW before going home.

What are the dates you'll be there. We are coming July 14-18. DH, myself, son (14 yo), daughter (11 yo).

Looking forward to it.

If you plan on taking a nice nap or doing a little something at the hottest part of the mid day, I think you'll find ti a very enjoyable time to visit. Grab a drink in the shade at the Green Cabin room balconey and enjoy the breeze.....

I am going to try for 7/7 thru 7/12. I was hoping for an ocean view inn room. I have been on hold too long at work so I'm going to keep trying to call this week. If I can't get these dates---maybe I'll be there the same time you are going!
I'm so happy to get these positive responses.

We are going to fly into West Palm Beach and drive up---should be about an hour-I'm guessing.

We will be at Vero, June 29- July 5th in a 1BR. We requested top floor, oceanview. We are looking forward to our first trip to Vero.:)

I have been on hold too long at work

I've had pretty good success using e-mail or a fax. You can even include your requests.

Yippee!!!
I was able to get right thru yesterday afternoon!
We booked an ocean view inn room 7/7-7/12. I requested top floor.
Are there any other requests I should be making?

Is there a special dining thing there where a chef cooks for you individually? I thought I read it somewhere.

Just be sure to take it easy and keep hydrated!

Even being in the pool will cost you if you are not careful!

We went in August. It was SOOOOO hot & humid. The no-see-ums were out & about, too... (ITCHY LITTLE BUGS)
Most afternoons my daughter & I went back to the room to watch a video from Eb & Flo's. One day, instead of going in, I stayed in the pool in the sun. I got very dehydrated.

I learned that if you get too dehydrated you can sleepwalk!!! Phew...fortunately I came out of it before i got out of the room in the middle of the night. It could have been scary. I made so much noise trying to open the door (which was latched & bolted & all) that my husband woke up & settled me down.

So I learned a good lesson there...drink LOTS OF WATER even if you are in the pool/on the beach!!! If you are going to rent bikes do it FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.

Have a wonderful vacation!!!!!

We have been attaching a VB stay to our July trips for the past couple of years. It is very pleasant and the sea breeze is great. We do it before the WDW portion to get us in the FL and Disney mood. It is not our home resort, so we book cash as soon as we can and thgen change to points at the 7 month window.
