Vero Beach... How busy mid-may?

I was hoping to rent a 2 bedroom @ VB for Mid-May 2007. We want to try VB before we add-on to our points .... still looking at BCV but if we like Vero... we'll add there instead.
Just wondering how hard it will be to get accommodation at the 7 month mark?

We were this May, checked out on the 10th. I didn't think it was that crowded, certainly the beach wasn't. It was our first time there and unless you love the beach and pool there wasn't a whole lot to do IMHO.

I'll stick with BCV

We actually want to just do the beach, pool and use the community hall. We will have our disabled 9 yr old dd, our 2 yr old dd and our 4 month old baby. Just ready to flake out with the kids.
We will go to a WDW DVC for oldest dd b-day in Nov.

May is one of the slower times, especially the second half but before the holiday weekend. I could have traded into VB for a 2 BR those last 2 weeks of May the last 3 years under the current way DVC determines II deposits.

Went for a long weekend May 18th this year and it was much less crowded than Feb/Aug (times we have visited in the past. Watch out for memorial day weekend though I ve read on the boards that it gets busy that time of May.

We usually go around the first week in May and it's not very crowded. The only exception to that would be Mother's Day weekend which seems to be a popular time. I think the key is to make your reservation as soon as your 7 month window opens up for your time. Vero's wonderful for relaxing... fabulous pool and beach.. enjoy

You should have no problem getting resi's in May. Vero does get very crowded the first few weeks in June when the kids get out of school and the heat is still bearable. Great resort. Enjoy!

We just returned from Vero yesterday. It is our home resort but the first time we have stayed there. I heard the only rooms available were a few inn rooms for cash ressies for people wanting to come for the shuttle launch. Even though resort was almost sold out, we never felt like it was a big deal because the fellow vacationers spread out between the beach and the pool. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had.......and we had two 16 year old boys with us.
