Am I reading the info correctly? We're headed to VB on points the last week of April, and info stated $24.00 per day for 2 beach chairs/umbrella??!! Wow, that's a chunk of change for 6 days there. Wondering why there is a charge for DVC members, when other DVC resorts don't charge for lounge chairs, towels??, and if they do, do they offer a package deal for 6 days?? Rather not fork over $24 a day..:confused3 :scared1:

Thanks

I think a lot of beaches have chairs/umbrellas for rent. Since the beach is open to the public (unlike a pool), they probably charge so the chairs/umbrellas don't "walk" away at the end of the day, as well as wear and tear, etc.

The chairs and umbrellas are not offered by DVC. They are offered by a private contractor.

Some people buy chairs at Publix or Walmart to use (and then pass along) and there usually is a VB beach chair swap. You know these are for the beach and not for the pool area. It's a public beach. Have a great time. We couldn't fit a VB stay into our plans this year, and I have serious withdrawal.

Hilton Head charges also.

At least at HH beach chair rental is "awarded" to a contractor by the city so DVC doesn't really have a choice. Could be the same type of deal at Vero.

Okay, thanks - it's a little clearer now. The idea of purchasing beach chairs at Publix and passing it/them on is a great one - thanks for the suggestions...
