Vero Beach- cash ressie ?

I want to make a cash ressie for a weekend at Vero Beach in November and plan on using a discount code. Can I make the ressie now and then use the discount code later or do I need the code when booking?

Since I'm not a DVC member (yet), what would be the easiest way to book this stay- call Vero direct or use a service?

Opinions, please:
Inn room with ocean view or studio for a family with two young children? My choice is Inn room/ocean view since it's a short stay. What would you do?
