Vero Beach and Hilton Head, why are points so low?

My husband and I are looking into becoming DVC owners! I noticed that points on the resale market for Vero Beach and Hilton Head are pretty cheap. Why is that? Is it because they aren't actually around Disney World?

They both also have the highest dues, but Vero Beach only got a .29% increase for this year.

The dues are killer at Vero, and your home resort priority is for Vero and Hilton Head. If you want to stay on WDW property, Saratoga is a better value accounting for dues, cost per point, and ability to book a room on property at 11 months during high season (September through marathon).

Buy VB and HHI if you want to stay there during warmer months or if you want to book a Beach Cottage. Don't buy there if you want to stay at WDW.

They are likely over priced even at the current pricing levels. They're priced lower because they have less value. As you noted, they also have higher dues, esp VB. Plus you give up the 11 month option if WDW is your preference. For WDW, SSR will be the cheapest long term and BLT will be next for the same number of points. I'd only buy HH or VB is I planned to stay there routinely.
