We are going to Vero Beach the week of March 10th. Are all activities available at that time? The turtle walk looks great, but wonder if they will do it at this time. Also, what about the weather? Is the ocean too cold to swim in? Any scoop will help. Thanks...

March is prime season at Vero Beach so there should be lots of activity. However, the turtle walks are done when the turtles are nesting on the beaches and that doesn't happen in March.

Weather should be beautiful with the possibility of a day when it might turn cool. Temps should generally be in the 70-80's. I'm not sure about the ocean temperature. I'm guessing it could be cool but not impossible.

We were at Vero last year from March 11 through the 15th. The turtles are not nesting this time of year, unfortunately. There were some existing nests with flags on them on the beach, but no turtles to be seen. However, there are activities all day long for different age groups.

The 6 kids in our group ranged in age from 3 to 13 and they all had a ball. The ocean was cool, but fine for us New Englanders. The only problem was Vero was feeling the remnants of a Northeast winter storm and there were very strong riptides, so we stayed near the shore. The pool was great - we typically spent a few hours on the beach each day and then headed to the pool for the afternoon.

Some of the free activities the kids participated in included the Unbirthday Party, Bubble Time, Chalk Art, Basketball, Soccer, Mini Golf (I think this costs $1 per person now), renting movies, etc. For a small fee they also rented bikes, rented waveboards, and did the Cell Painting class. They were so busy, they never even got the chance to try some of the pricier activities like the Manatee Tour.

We are all heading back in July and everyone is so exited!

We just returned from spending two nights at Vero. What a wonderful resort.

We where ther Feb. 15th and 16th. The water was cool, but people were swimming. They had on the board that the water temp was 69. The air temp was about 74.

I would also recommend the campfire. It was lots of fun.

That is also the heart of spring training for baseball fans. I think the Los Angeles Dodgers make Vero Beach their home. Plus you are in driving distance of some other MLB teams.

Looking forward to going there in March in the future or at least sometime in the next 40 years.
