VERO BEACH 2016 Information & Adoration Thread

They did a dune restoration project last year along the beach that kind of brought alot of sand back up against the ramp but they tappered it to the beach. I post a picture of what it looked like last October. We were also there in December but i dont remember it being much different, although i have seen the beach get changed day to day by high surf.

Thank you so much. This helps. I know the conditions change Storm to storm. I have pictures where the dunes were 8 (or greater) feet high after a series of storms and before the last beach restoration project. This picture is about how it was our last visit. We will not make it this year and that makes us sad.

Thanks! Which way is best to come?
we usually go 417 to 528 to 95 and get off in Melbourne at 192 and the head down Route 1 and catch 510 to the resort. We like to make a couple stops along the way and enjoy the view of the Indian River along route 1. It might take a little bit longer due to stop lights along route 1 than going down 95 but it works for us. We also have gone down 192 from Orlando but you can get tied up in traffic in Kissimmee but you avoid the tolls.

The first picture with the cottage in it was a little deceiving, they have signs for people to stay off the dunes but people still climb them, i would rather see a wall of sand then steel pilings

Anyone that will be here Sunday that would be interested in our two lounge chairs?

Won't be there then, but I am interested in how in went by taking your own chairs? Easy or aggravating? Worth the savings? If we were to rent two umbrellas and four loungers for three days it would cost close to $230 plus tax. Absurd!! I just don't see that happening.

Interested as well!:goodvibes Guess they can be purchased in places like Publix instead of renting? :confused3

Just booked our 1st vacation to Vero Beach on DVC site. Didnt put in any requests yet because we have never been to this resort. We are spending a week at OKW and then heading to VB to give our kids their first beach experience. How is the surf at VB? We booked a 2 bedroom Villa for May 28th check-in, so hoping to get one of the refurbished rooms on our trip. Hoping we get a room on the pool side- maybe building 14.

We will be in a Beach Cottage from 8/15 - 8/18. 4th stay at VB, but first in a Beach Cottage.

Please let me know which cottage and how you like it. We're planning a November cottage stay, and I'd love more information from someone who has been there!

We will be in VB for the first time 8/28-9/3 staying in a 2 bedroom villa...We have been DVC members for a while, and our 4 children (14,13,10,6) are happy about taking a relaxing trip to the beach instead of the craziness of the WDW parks (although I will miss it). We are all very active and the kids are huge nature lovers, so we are all really excited.

You have been added to roll call, enjoy your first stay

Hello! We are planning a two night stay in a cottage for a special weekend for celebrate two birthdays. Our group is 4 adults and 5 children (16, 15, 15, 13, 9).

Is there a cottage that is considered the best? Are there advantages to the various cottage locations?

Thank you!
Cottage 1450 and 1475 are closest to the pool and beach access, 1250 and 1450 are closest to the main building and if you were planning on using the grilling/picnic area or also attending the camp fires then 1150 is the closest to that. Cottage 1450 and 1475 are more likely to have people near the deck area on the beach, the other cottages have more of the dune covered in grass in front of them. On page 4 of the thread I posted some pictures of the cottage from our stay last October. If you have any other questions just ask.

I'm curious also. We'll be driving down from WDW for the 4th!

Roll Call check-in: We'll be there in a 1BR 7/4 - 7/6, with the night of 7/3 waitlisted. It's our second stay at VB. Can anyone tell me about activities on the Fourth of July? Will there be a Pirate Night at Shutters that night, since it's a Monday? How do I reserve that?

Thanks for all the info!

Does anyone know if the 3 rooms in the middle of the triangle are considered Garden View Inn Rooms? Per the front desk, I requested "Pool View" and have 3 rooms booked...hoping to get these three. Any info you may have would be great! I assume they are on the 3rd floor. We will be there June 25 - July 2!
