I'm soliciting opinions on whether or not we should request a 1 bdm or Inn room for Vero Beach in July. We have 62 points (2000) that we must use up by Oct 2002. We're planning on arriving on a Sunday and staying 4-5 days. Recommendations?

There are three of us, Me, DH, and DS (6).

Thanks so much.

I would vote for Inn room. My MIL and I just toured the 1&2 bedrooms, studio and Inn when I went on my cruise 2 weeks ago. When we stay at Vero in the future I am planning on reserving the Inn room. In our family we have DH, DS (currently 9.5) and myself.

We had an Inn room last June and thoroughly enjoyed it. We asked for an ocean view and were actually overlooking the pool and could see a bit of the ocean. We were on the 3rd floor.

I'd go for the 1 BDRM. We've (dh, DS and self) stayed at Vero in 1 bdrm for 3 days and absolutely adored it. Was top floor with a beautiful ocean view, a balcony we sat on for hours and of course, the room.

For that many days the ability to bring in a pizza, have a bottle of wine in the fridge, or whip up some eggs for breakfast is just wonderful. Plus sandy swim suits can be tossed in the in-room washer, etc.

Well, the Ocean View Inn room would be 12 points per weekday night in July while the 1 BR would be 22. With your 62 points, you could stay 5 nights in an Inn room, but only 2 nights in a 1 BR. So, I would do the Inn room. There are only 3 of you, so while you wouldn't have the added space, it shouldn't be much of a problem. You also wouldn't have the full kitchen and laundry facilities, but whether or not you would use them only you can decide.

We stayed 4 nights in an Inn room with our toddler daughter and used the kitchenette for breakfast and snacks but ate all our other meals out. Also, I used the free laundry room for a couple of loads of laundy mid-way through our trip and this worked great for us.

We stayed in a 1BR a year ago with DH, DS and myself. It was wonderful! I would suggest it for a bunch of reasons...

1. Fully equipped kitchen. Dining opportunities are limited at VBR unless you want to get in your car and drive somewhere. We had breakfast and lunch in the room each day. Also having the fridge let us have soda/juice/milk/beer/etc. in the room.

2. VCR in room. Not much to do there at night, we rented amovie each night.

3. Soaking tub, large bathroom, decent closet space.

4. Privacy, 'nuff said.

I'm answering this from Room 1440, a 1BR at VB. It has a gorgeous view of the ocean. Even w/o the view, the choice is easy--a 1BR.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I called Member Services this morning and made a ressie for a 1 bedroom 14 -19 July. I decided to delve into 2001 points because it doesn't look as if we're going to make it back to WDW until summer 2003. DH starts a military school this summer and he won't have much time off.

We just had a decent visit, so I'll be ready to go again by then.

Thanks,

I made a reservation yesterday for July 16-20 in a 1 br. It'll be our first time at VB, also!! See you there.:)

We will just miss you guys, DH, DD (3), and myself will be there July 7th -12th in a 2BR. I wish I were going tomorrow! We can't wait!!:D
