OK -- here's a question for the experts (that's you!):

My family is planning our next trip home. We are thinking about the first week of May 2005 (with a December use year). We would like to spend 4 days at our WDW home resort and then 3 days at VB, where we've never been.

The question is: should we book all 7 days at BWV (our home resort) and then transfer our ressie to VB at the 7-month window or should we take a chance that we'll be able to get a ressie at VB at 7 months?

The sticky wicket is that if we book the 7 days at BWV and then can't move it to VB we are in a bit of a point crunch and we'd have to borrow more than we'd like to from the next use year. We were thinking that if we couldn't get a ressie at VB, maybe we'd try to move to a different DVC resort at WDW using approximately the same amount of points. I think we may be able to make the points work out if we move to OKW, where we've also never stayed.

So what should we do? I'd appreciate any and all advice. I'll be waiting on pins and needles for your replies:teeth:

Thanks,

We have booked Vero at the 7 month window twice without any problems. We made the ressie for early June both times.

We've gone to Vero the first week in May twice now and did not have a problem reserving at 7 months.. BUT... after I made our ressie this year (7 months) we decided to add another day. It was around the 5 month mark when I called to add the day. Long story short -- we got the extra day, but the cm had to double check. When we were there resort was nearly full (Mother's Day weekend).

I don't think you should have a problem booking VB at the 7 month window for May(unless a Beach Cottage is needed).

We just got back from VB 19th - 23rd. It was not to terribly crowded I do not think you will have a problem 7 months out.

with no problems. We usually go mid-March (before the Easter holiday). Never had problems getting 1 bedroom with surprising ocean views! Good luck.

I think you will be ok for your time period to get into VB

thanks

You should be OK. The kids are still in school then. Just make the ressie at exactly 7 mos. The only other concern would be where are your weekend days - WDW or VB. Members who live w/in driving distance may be booking the weekends.
