Hi!! I am sure this has been asked before, but I could not find the answer, so here I go. Thanks!

I am sitting here anticipating the snowstorm that they are predicting for this evening and can not help but think of future DVC trips and trying out different locations, etc.

My question: What months and or time of year do you think are the hardest to book Vero Beach at the 7 month window? I imagine the summer months because of its location, with the beach, are the hardest.?? Has anyone not been able to get it for say August at the 7 month window? What about President's week for Vero? I realize February weather would probably be too cold for ocean swimming. However, I imagine many might go during February to escape the frigid cold of the North? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks so much. I am actually thinking of either trying for August of 2005 or Feb. 2006 for just a few days to try Vero. If we go in August, I would probably do 3-4 days Vero and 4-5 at WDW because I do not think my 11 year old son would last a week at Vero. Thanks again.

Traditionally, Florida and Vero are most popular in the winter. Mid-February to mid-April being prime time. Because of Vero's connection with Disney, the summer months have now also become quite popular. August is probably the least crowded month, especially from mid-month on, since some schools are already back in session. However, August is probably also the hotest and most humid month in Florida.

Winter can be unpredictable and changeable. The Gulf Stream is right off Vero so the ocean temp tends to stay in the high 60's-70. However, the air temps can fluctuate. It's not so much swimming when the air is 50. But, today it is up around 77 and I bet lots of folks are swimming in the pool and ocean while we sit and wait for the snow to start and the temps to hit 20. :(

disgirl,

I am in the process now of booking VB at the 7 month window for the end of August. First I wanted the Beach cottage and I could not get it. Then I asked for a 2 bedroom and a studio. Well, no studio's but I got the ocean view Inn room instead and teh 2 bedroom, one day was missing, but MS put me on hold and came back on the phone and told me she got it. Tomorrow is my last day for calling to secure my entire week.

2 years ago I was able to get a Beach Cottage for the same time of year with no problem. I guess VB is getting more and more popular. My family loves it.

(Never tried for President's week so I can not answer that but we go to HH in February and I have never had a problem there with the 7 month window)

Good luck and enjoy!

Disgirl -- As we wait for the snow.....thought you might want to take a look at what's happening in Vero.

Vero Surf Cam

(Not sure what happened -- it was bright and sunny there a minute ago and now the picture looks like a cloud or something has made everything gray.)

We had no problems booking a 1 bdrm at VB for the first week of August at the 7 mo. mark. This will be our first trip to VB and we are really looking forward to it.

PamOKW Thanks for your reply. Wow, near 77 degrees today at Vero. Boy, that sure does sound good!! I am so tired of the cold weather but with my dh's schedule and my ds in 6th grade, we have not gone away in the winter, but I tell you after this winter, I sure would like to. To think, we still have 2 more months of winter. UGH!! I am hoping in 2006, my dh might have some time off that coincides with the winter recess (President's week) so I was thinking maybe trying Vero, so my dh does not say" DW twice in one year?" We usually do DW in August. Yes, it is really humid, but that is when my dh gets two weeks off from work.

mikesmom88 Thanks for sharing your experiences. Did the MS recommend booking your week in August day by day? I guess that is the best way to do it in the summer, huh? Good luck with securing your last day. I am sorry you did not get the beach cottage you wanted. I am sure you will have a great time with the 2 bdroom and Inn room, though.

Thanks again for your advice!! I wish I was booking something right now.

Oh, TIdoublegaER , we must have been typing around the same time. Thanks for your response. It is good to hear you got it at 7 months. I hope you have a GREAT first time there.
