Vernada or Window? Thoughts?

We had a verandah for our Alaska cruise and loved it! Our next cruises are all inside cabins. Why? There really isn't much to see most of the time on many of the cruises. About the only two destinations that really warrant a verandah are the Panama Canal and Alaska. I suppose there may be some European destiations that may qualify as well.

For us, $1,000 is a LOT of money. Our repo cruise from Vancouver to LA is only $1,300 for all six nights ... for TWO of us. Think of what you can do for that extra $1,000.

That said, we do spend most of our time out on deck (usually). We spend as much time as possible on shore when in port. Basically, we use our room to sleep in.

When in Alaska, we spent a lot more time in our room and out on the Verandah because there was always something to see. Always. Even at night.

We booked the veranda room but I am a bit worried about the smokers. Hopefully there will not be one near us.
