Verizon offers app for Disney vacationers

I have seen this mentioned in several Disney articles on Disney sites around but has anyone used this yet or is it out? I am a Verizon carrier and would love to be able to use this on our Jan 2010 trip. any help would be great...

I haven't. I went to Verizon's web site and pulled up the applications and searched for Disney. There were only 2 Disney apps there, neither one doing what this article says. So, maybe it didn't work out?

Intersting...I have not heard of this so I did some searching. Looks like most articles are from last November, however I did find a blog from June that mentions this Verizon app with a few Disney rep quotes. Sadly since I don't have 10 posts yet I can not post the url. But if you do a Google search with 'disney verizon app 2009' its a link almost all the way down the page. The source is from the Maimi Herald.

Basically as of June its not out yet with no time frame of when it will be other than 2009.

The articles also mention there is an IPhone app that relies on people updating the current wait times and only costs $.99 . If I had an IPhone I would try it out at least!

I have read about the Disney app multiple times. You are supose to get character locations, wait times and other park information. On our trip in June of this year I tried to find the app on my phone but could not. When we go back in two weeks I'll try it again, then call verizon if it doesn't work.

Yes, try it out and if it doesn't work, let me know what Verizon says. I think that the app has great potential (I'd use it for sure)... it just needs to come out already!

I did see that in one of the planning books that I read-while DS plays @ Barnes & Noble. I would love to find out how much it is and how hard it is to use it.
