I am wondering if any of you have any experience or opinions on this? I currently have cable but its so expensive...I have a bundle offer that I can switch to Verizon DSL with a free wireless modem...so just wondering do you have it? do you like it? Is it as fast as cable? TIA!

It is not as fast as cable. I had DSL for years and unless you do alot of downloading and such DSL is fine. At 1/4 of the cost of some cable providers it is sometime worth the sacrifice.

My experience is that DSL is not faster than cable. We had cable first so the DSL seemed sooooo much slower. We pay a lot more for cable but it's worth it.

DSL is slower, but depending on what speed you have now will affect how much you notice the difference.

If you use video streaming, you'll notice it buffering more and for longer than with cable. If DISboards and email is the extent of internet usage, you'll probably get by just fine.

I've got Verizon DSL and had it for about 2 years now. It's a bit slow on my desktop, but I believe that's the PC, not the DSL. WiFi to my Ipad 2, Smart TV, Wii and mutiple Ipod touches works great. I don't download much (iTunes stuff mostly), but i do stream frequently. For what I pay, I'm happy with it. I can't compare it to cable or Fios though.

I've also never had any reason to contact Verizon with issues. Not a single time. The one time I did contact them, it was a Netflix issue, not the DSL.
