Anyone have it that can give a review? My DH called today....we are having the installation next week....TV, phone, internet. right now, we have comcast for both tv and internet, Direct Tv for tv (yes, we have both comcast and Direct Tv....DH had to have the NFL ticket that only Direct Tv had!!!), and verizon for phone.

Now all will be with verizon for less $$$$. Just wondering with everyones experiences??? Plus, supposedly we are getting a free flat screen 19 inch tv....but that won't come in until May (?????)

Got FIOS in November.....we are very happy and when we did need to call with an issue they were very prompt and professional!

we had basic old cable before...but neighbors who had better cable all said they have a much better picture with FIOS.

We switched last year from Cablevision. Internet is quicker. The picture is soooooo much better than Cablevision. We are happy. I had to get used to new controls and channels and such. They also updated their software a few weeks ago, adn that took some getting used to. I DON"T miss Cablevision at all.

We switched from Directv last month so far we're pretty happy. On Demand is great for the kids, I don't have to fill my DVR with Caillous and Barneys anymore

The multi room DVR doesn't work. They've reset it a couple of times and said they'd get back to us which they haven't. We may just cancel that feature since i don't think we really need it.

we have it only for the broadband - tv - not available here. No problems here.

Got Fios last week! How timely!:lmao:

We had Time Warner (formerly Comcast).

So far, so good. Although the controls are pretty intense.:scared1:

We already had verizon for our internet and now we have their router. It is BIG.;)

I think he tried to push all wireless but I don't think we did that. I am not sure of all the details as DH was here for the install.

I have 5 seperate family members who have it installed in their homes. They all have nothing but good things to say about it.

I've had it for some time and I'm very pleased with it. Faster, cheaper and more reliable than cable internet, in my area anyway. I've had the TV for several months now and again, I'd say it's great! I have no complaints whatsoever.

I was going to get it but I am not paying extra for each tv in the house.

We're paying $40 less now than we were paying before for Directv and DSL

We have had Verizon FIOS, tv, phone and wireless broadband, for just over a year. Very pleased with all aspects. A couple of weeks ago the wireless router failed and they came to replace it within four hours. The new router is smaller than the huge one they originally installed.

We switched from Cablevision to FIOS a few months ago. So far it is 1000% better.

The problems we had with Cablevision: some of the channels didn't work, the channel information was usually on the fritz, the boxes constantly broke and the replacements weren't any better.

With FIOS, the tv picture is clearer and the channels work! I'm not too fond of the new menus but I'll deal. Time will tell if their boxes withstand the constant use better. The other positives: it is costing us less and the internet is much faster.

I know a lot of people who have switched to FIOS and they are much happier. (I also have a personal issue with Cablevisions owner and I feel much happier giving my money to someone else. He lands his helicopter next to my office building 6 times a day, everyday, illegally.)

We dont have FIOS but I have heard good things about it. We recently bundled our internet (Comcast) and got cable (we had Directv) with ATT Uverse. So far its okay. It is cheaper. We can have ALL the channels including HBO cheaper than what we paid for the 2 things seperately. Plus I hate Directv so its a bonus to get away from them.

It's not available here yet. We're going to look into it when it is.

The January issue (I think) of Consumer Reports showed it as the highest rated bundle.

We love, love, love it!!!

We had a difficult time at installation (it took all day), then several phone calls to get the TiVos working - but now that its fully operational - we'd never go back to Comcast.

The picture is amazing - the internet - lightning speed. Internal Television guide is awesome - the on-demand feature for free programs - easy to get used to!

The negative - you do have to pay extra for the extra TVs (we have seven, I think four come with the package). And no MSNBC for a couple of years - we, in this house, are political junkies (who don't like Fox :) ).

Still its cheaper than what I was paying for separate services......

What channels come with it? do you have a list? I didn't know that MSNBC didn't....not that it really bothers me.....just wondering

We've had it 3 weeks so far. We previously had digital cable through Comcast for TV and internet.

The good:
  • Picture quality is hugely improved. We had no idea how "bad" the comcast quality was before now. It is unreal how crisp the picture is on our TV.
  • There seems to be a lot more variety of programming choices, especially for kids.
  • The internet speed is hugely improved. My DD and I both play VMK a lot and the slowness was incredible. The same went for watching videos on You-Tube, or waiting for any image intensive webpage to load. Now, it is almost instantaneous.

The bad:
  • We are still waiting for them to lay the "cable" under ground. Right now, it is on our driveway and sidewalk and we keep tripping over it. It was supposed to be done before they even came to do the in-house installation, but someone dropped the ball. We keep getting reassured that it will happen within the week, but it hasn't yet.
  • The wireless router is HUGE. The router we had with Comcast was small and inconspicuous. This one his gigantic. DH is actually shopping around to buy a compatible, but smaller, router to replace the one we're renting from Verizon.
  • FIOS' On Demand stinks. The selection is great, but it is no where near as user-friendly as Comcast's was.
  • With FIOS, the On Demand information resides at Verizon and is transmitted through the Router. So, when you access On Demand, there is a delay as it connects to Verizon and retrieves the information. What this also means is that if for some reason, your internet and/or router is down, you cannot access On Demand through FIOS on your TV. For that matter, you cannot even access the "Menu" from your TV.

We're more than happy with the FIOS, and the fact that it costs less, but we're getting more.

HTH!

We're thinking about switching to Fios - we currently have Cox cable for internet/phone and Directv for television. It's just becoming available in my area, and I know a few people who have switched already. I'm most excited about the potential savings every month!

One question for people who already have it - how is the DVR functionality, ease of use, etc? We have the Directv receiver that has the actual Tivo software built in, and I've been nervous about switching to a non-Tivo DVR.

We just had our FIOS installed this week. We previously had Direct TV. I love it already. And having the telephone, internet and television bundled together will definitely save us money each month.
