Up nice and early, straight into Starbuck's to wake me up. Walking through the streets of NY witha coffee in my hand I'm feeling quite at home already!!!! we take a leisurely stroll up tp the Empire State Building. We join the very long queue, where I am able to do my favourite activity of people watching for an hour!
Up the lift, with popping ears we finally step out and the view really is breathtaking. We have one of those audio commentry thingies which I find really useful and informative. It was slightly misty so couldn't see as far as I would have liked but it really was amazing, one of those things you just can't describe. Simon takes about 850 photos before we are allowed to leave!!!
We then have lunch at a pizza place, just like you see on telly!! I have a yummy pizza roll thingy with chicken, marinara sauce an cheese in, yummy. We stroll past NY library where I recreate the ghostbusters running out of! Then we go into Grand Central Terminal, which is really beautiful. Plus, I always thought it was called Grand Central Station which it isn't!! We then head to Rockerfeller Center and have a wander in some of the beautiful shops there. I am at this point realising that there is going to be no time for real shopping, oh well will just have to go again!!!
Buy some cheesy gifts, magnets, mugs etc on way back to hotel.
That evening was very cool cos we met my brother who is working at camp America in North New York, he got the bus down and we had a meal together. That was pretty weird, to meet in NY! We had a lovely (big!) meal at Applebees and then went to ESPN bar for a drink. I was most excited in the toilets cos each compartment had a TV and the paper towels came out automatically. I came out so excited, American people must think us Brits are really simple!!!!
Back to the hotel to pack (already!) We have to be up at 5am the next day. YUK!!!
