Verified ADR's and got a surprise!

Well I called to verify all my ADR's, and found out I had one for the Grand Floridian Cafe. I would like to hear some opinions on the restaurant. I don't know if I will keep it or not, I have so many ADR's. I guess I have to go over them and see which ones I want to keep.

Is there a thread to post the ones I will be canceling? So that if anyone wants them I can give you the info?

We've been to the GFC for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very good, the atmosphere cheery and the service was wonderful. We'll be back there having lunch one week from today!

Missy, is there a chance that you made an ADR for the 1900 Park Fare? Because while you will be down there, the 1900 Park Fare will be closed for remodeling and the character meals will be moved to the Grand Floridian Cafe. The characters will be the same, but it will be a preplated meal. Choice of one appetizer per table. Several choices of entrees. Choice of one dessert per table.

I don't know if anyone can say. This is not scheduled to begin until July. If you call the CMs at Disney Dining, they have all of the particulars.

That's just it I didn't make this ADR so I don't know, I will have to call them tomorrow and find out what it is for. Is it good to have it for 1900 Park Fare? The women I spoke to said it was hard to get. What characters are there? I

When I was making reservations for our trip we took a month ago, the CM told me that the Grand Floridian Cafe was "highly overlooked". So I made the reservation and we went there for dinner one night. I really liked the atmosphere, but found the food very salty. I have to say that of all our dinners, (Kona, LeCellier, San Angell Inn, & GFC) it was our least favorite. I wouldn't rush back there. IMO there are so many other better places!!

Yes, it is good to have it for 1900 Park Fare.

We'll be having that character meal at the GFC on July 26.

Fairy Godmother (she greets, poses for pics, & sign autographs in the lobby)
Cinderella
Prince Charming
The mice, Suzy & Perla

My DD12 & DS9 love it!!
We just at ate 1900 PF on May 16.

And the characters are The Faiygod mother, Prince Charming ans the mice? Any more?

how did you get a adr that you didn't book? i guess i have never heard of that one. So did you have all of the adr's that you did book?

I don't know how that happened, but yes I did get all the others that I booked.

When is your ADR for? I thought 1900 Park Fare was closing for a bit and the character meal was going to be at the GF Cafe? I am just trying to figure out if its worth it to do day of arrival (we wont do parks that day) if its at the Cafe? I know the characters will be the same but wondering what type of food?

Okay, I just called dining to ask what type of food. I have a very picky husband and some picky kids! They told me that as of right now, it is slated to continue to be a buffet style meal but because the restaurant is contracted with Disney, not owned by Disney so they can change it at any time. Right now, its the same meal that is currently being served (this is for my Sept ADR). Steph

How long is 1900 Park Fare going to be at GFC? I made an ADR for 1900 Park Fare for November and nothing was mentioned to me. Are they going to change the menu? or just update the interior?

I heard that the switch will be over on Oct. 1 or Nov. 1....can't remember which. Anyone??

I looked on allears.net site and it says 1900 Park Fare is doing rehab from first part of July to October 1, 2007 so it should be back open when I go back on Nov 1. Does anyone know if they are usually good with these dates or do they get delayed? I'm wondering if we should switch our ADRs.. I really picked this one so dd could see Cinderella (which I guess she would do even if it is at the GFC).
