We currently have booked a delux family oceanview stateroom with verandah on the Fantasy.

Our plan is that we will tuck the boys into bed and then go hang out on the verandah for the rest of the evening.

I think I read someplace that access to the verandah is blocked when the beds are pulled out. Is this true?
(I don't mind worming around the boys, but I do want to be able to get outside once they are asleep.)

Thanks!

Which beds are you going to be using? This is a picture of a 4A with all the beds (for sleeping 5) open

And the murphy bed open next to the verandah door

We have been able to get around the Murphy Bed to get to the verandah door (since it slides, it can still be open). You will need to side-step a bit, but it can be done.
It is more an issue of the gust of air that comes in when the door opens then getting around the bed (if you are trying not to wake kids) though.

Great question, we booked on the Magic connecting rooms with Verandah and planned to put kids to sleep and chill out side. Hopefully we will be able to squish in and out the door. I amhappy to know the magic balconies can open up that way we can chat with our cousins next door.

Not all the verandah dividers on the Magic can open between rooms.

You will be able to get around the Murphy bed to the verandah door when the bed is in the down position. Been there and done that!

Oh no, how can we find out which do?
AFAIK, the only dividers that can open between rooms are those rooms that are already connecting rooms. Used to be that none of the verandah dividers could connect, but I believe they changed that with the reimagining. However, I'm not 100% sure.

The Majority of Disney Magic staterooms have the ability to have connecting verandahs not just the ones with connecting rooms, the ones that do not are very forward and very aft.

I was on the Nagic last week and on embarkation they were all open hen we got into our stateroom early. We could see all the way forward and aft.

We are in 6614 and 6612 right next to the aft elevators. Keeping my fingers crossed for connecting balconys.

Good information. We asked once and yep, were told it's all the way up and down the sides. Make sense for a lot of engineering and maintenance reasons. So it is NOT only connecting rooms, and the OP can expect the divider to be able to be opened. Hope they will do it for you! How cool to be out on the deck of a cruise ship at night with the kids sleeping inside. Savor that time!
