I am a bit confused. My first cruise I had a regular plexiglass verandah...cat 6. This time I am in an inside cat 10. I am really wanting to upgrade to something with an opening lol. What exactly is the difference between a verandah and a navigators verandah. When looking at them, they seem to be the same thing.

Is the navigators verandah sliding doors into an closed off area with a big hole that is open to the outside???? lol....

Thanks in advance....:) Tracy

Yes - it's more like an enclosed balcony with a cutout hole (circular on the Magic, oval on the Wonder). There are a few sites with good pictures around, which someone can probably post for you.

A good way to describe it is: You have the balcony, and for the opening to the sea, you have a port hole the big one, but there is NO glass. The wonder is larger due to the oval shape. The balcony is a little different with "nautical" touches, a bench on 1 side, and wooden chair, and a table. Inside is all done in wooden touches. Its very nice, a little more private. We enjoyed ours very much.

Problems are: I'm 5'0" and standing barefoot the bottom rail came up to around my shoulders. So to see out I had to stand, or sit on "my feet" on the chair. To look down I kneeled on a chair (but I'm a grown up) To look out at the horizon no problem just look straight out from room. :D Is it worth it absolutely. We loved the fresh air, and being able to "look out". (our's was located on deck 5).
