I have been reading about the plexiglass versus the metal verandah. I was wondering if anyone knows if cabin #8088 has a plexiglass or metal one. We are really excited about the cruise either way but are really hoping it's plexiglass. Thank you!

I believe 8088 is plexiglass. Anyone who has stayed in it, feel free to correct me if I am in error ;-) .

According to the information I have, 8088 is the last stateroom, heading aft, with a transparent verandah railing. 8090, next door, is the first stateroom, heading aft, with the metal railing.

That's what I thought. GoofyDonald is in luck!

Thanks alot you guys! Like I said I'm sooo excited just to be going, but this makes me look forward to it more!:D

Enjoy that verandah! I am the opposite taste (I prefer the metak aft ones), but either way, one of the greatest pleasures on the cruise is ordering coffee and sweet rolls from room service and starting off the day with breakfast out there...pure heaven.

We have never cruised before, going on our 1st one June 27th 2002 on the Wonder, 3 day.

What is the difference between the metal and plexiglass verandahs, and are they completely private or can you share an evening with the couple next door (our castmember friends)?
We are on deck 7 # 7096.

The metal and plexiglas verandas are very similar. The difference is that there is a railing along the ship and the ones in front of the metal verandas will have a plexiglas panel in place that you can see through and the others will have a solid metal panel that you can't see through. The metal verandas are located in the aft section of the ship and appear after the Navigator's Veranda cabins on the deck plans. The metal verandas that are the farthest aft have slightly larger verandas due to the curve of the ship.

My DW and I have been in cabins with each of them and we don't care for the metal verandas becuase we can't see over it from a comfortable sitting position.

There is a third type of varand called a Navigator's Veranda. It has the metal veranda from the railing to the floor but it is also more fully enclosed with metal. It has an opening that is the size of a porthole that is open to the elements and it is decorated with benches and nautical items.

Caib 7096 and both neighbors have Plexiglas verandas. You'll be able to have a conversation with your CM neighbors, but there is a privacy panel in between and it will be difficult to see them, unless everyone leans over the railing while standing.

Thanks so much for all your info, albiats, and atigeg (Barb). We have never cruised before, so I am reading every board I can. I do spend hours just reading. I am so excited and can't wait until June 27th.
I have been on your website Barb, almost everyday--it is fabulous and very informative. I really want to try the suriel bath, it sounds great!!!!

Thanks again,
Denise

OK....you folks have really got my curiosity going about these verandahs. My cabin is 7596. Does anybody know which one I will have??
