I have seen pictures of the room but can't find any of the veranda. Can anyone share? Also, if you had a choice, would you pick 11000 or 12004? (11000 was the only available but now 12004 has opened up)

We always do 11002--I think 11000 is the last room in the hall and a smaller verandah than our "bow out". Did you check the room reports yet?

I have checked room reports and other sites but have not found a picture of the verandah. I am wondering how much "your" bow out blocks "my " view.

My mom had 11000 on our last cruise and she loved it. It is double the size of a regular cabin and wide open. The veranda was not huge but you could see the captain in the whatever the area where they steer the ship is called. On 11 you have the covered verandas which I don't love but we didn't really spend much time out there. There is also only one very large bathroom in 11000 versus the split in 12004. Also closet space is less but tons of drawers. But if either of those is not an issue, I would take the space of 11000. It really feels huge.

Thank you for the info!

How is the view from the verandah? It just has to be big enough for me to sit and enjoy my coffee...

It's definitely big enough to sit and enjoy coffee. It's not an open feeling because of the clear cover but it's fresh air and a view of the ocean most of the time. All of the verandas on DCL are made for the elements so it makes it feel like a big shower to me because of the all white plastic. I'm used to verandas on another cruise line that is more of a hotel balcony feel so this is different but I don't think it would be substantially different from 12004.

Thanks again, you've helped a lot!

I've stayed in 12004. I'd take it over 11000 every single day. It's a companion unit to the Royal suites, so it has slightly nicer finishes, etc. It also has a big-screen TV in front of the bed, which I don't believe 11000 has (though the Fantasy might have big screens in front of the beds in all of the Cat V staterooms).

What do you think of the verandah in 12004?. Does the bump out obstruct a lot of your view? I read somewhere the entryway is narrow; did it feel small to you?

It didn't feel any narrower than any other Cat V or other Family w/verandah we've stayed in. I didn't find there to be any obstruction. Yes, you can't look all the way down the side of the ship because of the bumpout, but that wasn't an issue for us. We had plenty of room on the verandah, but I felt that the deck 11 verandahs were actually deeper given that they all have the terrarium overhead, which extends beyond the edge of the deck 12 verandahs. This could be an illusion. I could look up from our deck 11 verandah and see the people above on deck 12 without having to lean out, though. Looking at video of deck 12 and 11, deck 11's verandahs *are* quite a bit deeper.

11000 *does* have a smidgen of a bumpout, though. You can see it in this video at 5:20:

Phinz, thanks so much for the info and the video! I didn't realize 11 was so enclosed. I was in 12010 (middle of bumpout) on my last cruise and really liked the verandah.
