Flying SWA (and not excited about it) in January for a quick weekend trip and do not wish to check a bag. I generally bring largish tote (under seat size) and small rolling suitcase (overhead bin) in this situation.

I would like to bring my large VB duffel as I like the flexibility a duffel offers. The website says it is carry-on complaint (22 x 11 1/2 x 11 1/2) but the SWA site says 10 x 16 x 24.

Has anyone carried this duffel on Southwest?

Thanks.

Don't overstuff it and you'll be fine. Duffle bags, especially the VB variety, are totally flexible and will conform to the interior of the overhead bin.

You should be fine. We often bring a duffle as a carry-on. The overall dimensions of yours (22 + 11.5 + 11.5 = 45) is smaller than the SW limits (10 + 16 + 24 = 50). :thumbsup2

I've used my Vera large duffel as a carry on for the last several flights (all but one were Southwest) and have had no trouble at all.

Thanks.

Now, I just have to hope the weather is better than it is today. Or else, I won't get off the ground!
