Ate at Ohana's for breakfast Saturday morning with 4 adults. Total was $97.94 and I left cash for a tip. Just went to pay my CC to find a 2nd charge from Ohana's for $130.67 so needless to say I got upset. My dbf called them for me just now and spoke with a manager who did not know what happened and assured him she would take care of it, then as he went to ask for her name to have incase it is not taken care of she hung up on him. I just don't understand why it got charged twice. If it was for the same charge them maybe but it was two different amounts. We had a wonderful time there and this just ticks me off. Anyways thanks for letting me vent!

If it is not refunded I definitely will. Just annoyed me...and I've never disputed anything(never had to) so its just confusing to me so I really hope they just refund it.

It's quite obviously a mistake and your credit card company will be able to see two charges for the same day at the same place. The second charge is not for something that would include tip since that would be a 33% tip.

Don't wait for Disney to get back to you. Call the credit card company *now*. They will put that amount in dispute and will not charge you interest on it until the matter is resolved.

It could take some time for that charge to get reversed so you don't want the disputed amount sitting there getting interest applied toward it at the end of the month. Quick phone call and that won't happen.

And it could be innocent as well - perhaps there was a larger party near you finishing up about the same time. The waiter has both your credit cards in hand to ring through - and rings yours twice and theirs not at all - honest mistake - things like that happen.

Call your credit card, put the amount in dispute, and don't worry too much about it. It will make you feel better if you choose to think it was probably just an oops on the part of the waiter.

not the most trusting person here. server probably skimming by charging you twice, hoping you wont notice, and pocketing other tables cash payment.
if it works, they beat you, if you catch them, it's a "oops, sorry, busy, mix-up, error, etc. or whatever they can get away with for an excuse.

always, alway, always check your folio on a daily basis while on vac. unfortunately thieves prey on unsuspecting people.
also, btw, i am not by any means saying disney condones this activity.
this is solely a personal dishonesty problem by certain employees.
part of a degeneration of morals in our time.

what an irritating situation. Let us know how everythign works out.
and now my eyes will be open when we go... thanks;)

Actually by your reasoning (that is happens very frequently), everyone should be doing this every time they eat anywhere and use a credit card. Not just on vacation.

wow, that stinks! Hope it all works out for you. I was thinking about leaving cash for tips but then they could charge your card for tip and you couldnt prove you left cash. It's wierd that they charged two different amounts. good luck!

I usually leave cash for the tip. On the bill, I always put an "x" across the tip line, and carry down the unchanged bill amount to the "total" line.

To kind of respond to most of the posts:

I just feel like an honest mistake is double charging the same amount. It was NOT busy at all when we were there so she should not have rushed to the point of charging 2 meals on it...and oh the family who got charged on my card(if this is what happened) got a free breakfast lucky them. I am a very easy going person but this just hit a nerve.

As for checking my CC everyday on vacation its just not going to happen, I don't pay for the internet and if I can make a phone call to check it I just wouldn't take the time. I check it Monday night after getting home at 445AM Monday so I think that was in a good amount of time.

Anyways at this point after speaking to Ohana's the charge has gone back to pending on my CC account so I'm assuming it will be taken off. While pending it does not gain interest nor can I dispute it(spoke to my CC company) I honestly just wanted to vent after seeing it and being really tired and ticked off. And even after cooling off I still don't think it should have happened....but things happen I guess so as long as it gets fixed all will be well again! Thanks to those that gave your support!! I will try and post when I am sure its all taken care of!

Hope this gets resolved quickly! I hate those pending charges, though. After a while, it gets tough to remember to check and make sure it "falls off" the account which stinks because I think there is a finite amount of time to dispute a charge. Ah, well - hopefully it all works out in the end. ;)
